Snow at Easter!

Having returned from the site over the Easter period and staying for the remainder of the week had to write to say that the site is a credit to the two couples that look after it - despite the very poor weather - I think we had everything from wind and rain to snow and then more rain - they managed to keep the site in great order and the facilities - I don't think I have seen any cleaner on a CAMC site. We decided to change pitch on the Tuesday once our relatives had left as the top end of the site although very very quiet gets a little wet and its not the closest to the facilities - you can't have everything tho! Very helpful in letting us move pitch with no hassle at all. All in all the site will be much better when its dry but weather isn't bookable on the website yet - plenty to do in the local area - you have a very easy walk to the Millfields car park at the start of the site road and from there its a stroll to the visitor centre at Carsington Water itself so you can leave the car. If you're doing the walk and want to use the car then go from Millfields as the parking is cheaper!! Matlock Bath and Matlock are close at hand for the inland 'seaside' feeling and we also enjoyed the tramway museum at Crich which was holding its 1940s event. One tip - read your handbook for the approach, If you are using sat nav recommend you set the route to terminate in Hulland Ward if you are approaching from the M1 area and then proceeding as per book - otherwise you will find it routes you through some interesting villages and hills...........enough said!
