We only stayed three nights on a trip back from Cornwall but we will definitely be back for a longer stay. The wardens were so friendly and helpful - giving directions to all the local amenities and providing a print out to show where they were. The site itself is immaculate - the facilities, pitches and grounds were all spotless and well cared for. The overall ambience was friendly and polite with respect for others - this is exactly as it should be on a club site! The site is well located for Cheddar Gorge which is spectacular and only a 20 minute walk away. There are also various walks from the site, including to the reservoir which has panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Further afield, Wells is worth a visit - very unspoilt and the cathedral is fantastic. Local shopping options are plentiful within Cheddar - Sainsburys is a short distance away and there is also a Tesco Express as well as lots of local shops, especially up near the gorge. Overall we had a great time and as there is far more to visit than we could fit in, we will be back!
FANTASTIC,FANTASTIC,FANTASTIC!
First time for us on this site but oh boy it did not disappoint in any way, from check in to leaving it was just outstanding! The wardens were fantastic they never passed anyone without a greeting or a bit of banter. We stayed for two days , our pitch was across from reception handy for toilets etc. It didn’t matter who went into reception they were met with a cheery smile and nothing was a bother. Don't get me wrong, we are normally treated very well when we arrive on sites but this couple just had it all you couldn’t buy it! They had time for everyone even in these unprecedented times the site was run very very well, information pack excellent, facilities spotless and they just didn’t seem to stop. This is definitely our Favourite site of all times. We will be back for sure.Nice walk into Cheddar and walked as far as the Gorge really nice.
Thanks to the staff for making our stay very very enjoyable, hope to be back soon.
Lovely stay
Arrived 9th August wardens very friendly and was given a lot of information on arrival albeit the showers were very clean they need updating very small the Wi-Fi should be rated Bronze it definately was not Silver we stayed at a camp in July with Bronze and was much better than the Silver here very close to shops and Gorge and buses into Weston and Wells enjoyed our week here
Lovely site
We loved this site. It was our first visit and just a short stay on way back from Cornwall. We met up with my parents who were also staying on the site. Cheddar Gorge was a must and by a strange coincidence we took a photo of my son on a rock that we noticed in a scene of Poldark Series 4 after we got home! We are watching on Netflix and thought it would remind us of Cornwal where we visited the mines, but in fact we now know that some of it was filmed in beautiful Cheddar. We thought Cheddar was well organised for Covid-19, as was the site. We did not have any issues with people not following the guidance on this site. There was a bit of noise at night from somewhere off site, one night - sounded like it came from the river area, but apart from that it was perfect and we would visit again.

Cheddar a Gem
Has been a while since last here, so not sure what to expect, especially after Covid restrictions, but had a great few days here. Well done to Wardens Malcom and Jo, they really looked after everyone, so pleasant and could not do more for us
Site is close to the centre and is walkable to the Gorge, shops and restaurants. A cycle route (Strawberry line) is not too far away and takes you into Axbridge.
There are 2 supermarkets near to the site also, but not for a Motorhome, as you pay for each bay you take up, !
Will definitely be back 😄🚐

Lovely people, lovely place.
Smashing location. Great munch wagon in Cheddar FC next door, and great walks for the dog. Nice wardens and very clean. All good.
Easy access to Cheddar Gorge
For us, the principle reason to stay at this site is being able to walk into Cheddar, and up to the gorge. By chance we found a walk around the local reservoir, which is definitely worth a find.
The site itself is quiet, though the neighbouring campsite not necessarily so.
The site team were business-like (though not unfriendly). The notices on the cubicle doors in the toilet blocks would have been softer (closed maybe, rather than COVID-19) as the latter did not envoke reassurance. Having said that, there was no doubting the cleanliness of the toilet block.
Excellent find.....
Stayed at this site recently to meet up with friends also in their van and using this site!!!
First time on the site and will definitely return.......Due to the Caravan Club sending me a txt four days before we Set off we arrived at the site at 12.00 !!!! We were told by the wardens this txt was sent in error !!!! Please do not arrive before 1pm.....the wardens were not happy on our early arrival but when we showed them our txt they realised Who was to blame !!!!!
Site easy and safe to walk into Cheddar and had a lovely meal at the Bath Arms during our stay ....looking forward to our return !!!!,....Wardens very friendly......

Well placed Site
Clean and tidy. Wardens exceptionally friendly and helpful. Walking distance to town, with choice of pubs/cafes/supermarkets. Walkable to Cheddar Gorge. Good walking from site. Good cycling, from site. A little traffic noise, but, otherwise, surprisingly quiet.
What a surprising gem
We stayed here at the end of January. What a surprising gem of a site it is. Very quiet, with a great location and great walks and a bus stop not far.
The facilities are up to the club high standard and the wardens are very friendly and extremely helpful & seem in tune with what campers actually want (not always the case).
Can't wait to return as the gorge walk in January after weeks of rain was awful, so would po e to do it again as the views were stunning but the mud not so (although I slid down hill easily, if painfully).
Thank you to the wardens, you do a fantastic job, especially in the crappy weather we've had to keep everything up to scratch.
