Good for families

Good, apart from piped music

We found this a pleasant site, within easy walking distance of shops and Cheddar Gorge, and with views of the pretty Mendip Hills, if you choose a pitch along the back hedge. The wardens are helpful and hard-working, and our stay was peaceful and sunny. It is not very safe to walk into Cheddar along the main road, which is without a footpath at blind spots, and it would be helpful if it was specifically pointed out on arrival that there is walking route in the opposite direction as you turn out of the site gate. The only thing that spoiled the site for us was the loud radio in the washrooms. It is ironic that on a site where all the other users were considerate, and we were never disturbed by amplified sound around the site, the management ensured that we could not escape it in the washroom. Please switch it off.

Yes, the piped music can be very irritating especially when some tone deaf, tuneless, twerp decides to sing along with it laughing.

It’s quite nice to have the radio on in the washrooms/showers especially if it’s the local radio as they mention events etc which is always good to support/visit.
