Great site

Stayed for 4 nights in March. Lovely site and good facilities. Wonderful walks through the Bathurst estate compliment this peaceful site and allows easy access into Cirencester. Recommend the Marlborough Arms for a decent Camra pub and good beer. This site highly recommended.

Good for families

If they are constructing a college next door, they don't seem to do it on the weekend.

If your looking for a site near the Cotswolds but near a town with lots of amenities then Cirencester takes some beating. Excellent facilities Warm and Friendly staff. Superb and we will be back. As for the construction work adjacent to the site, they didn't appear to be working last weekend so it doesn't seem to be intrusive. Cirencester Caravan Club Site is also quite large so you can probably set up away from that side even at the busiest of times. So I wouldn't be put off.

First visit

This was our first visit to Cirencester Park and what a delight it proved to be. The purpose of our visit was a short stay to enable us to swop our caravan for a new one and being so close to the dealer Swindon Caravans this was the ideal site. On our arrival the wardens were very helpful with advice about the site and coincidentally the new van we were collecting which was the same model they had. We immediately went for a walk with our dog into the delightful park adjoining and then spent the evening getting our old van ready for the swop over the following day. Returning to the site the next day with our new van we set about putting all the dozens of bits and bobs you accumulate back into the van and then went to investigate the town. Coming from the coast Cirencester was a very interesting historic town with much to see and do, far more than we could take in on that brief visit so much so that we extended our visit by a couple more days to explore the area a bit more. This is a site and an area to which we will definitely return, the facilities are excellent, the site is beautifully maintained, the wardens were really friendly and helpful and the site is set in beautiful parkland, what more could you ask for.

Ideal Location

Very pleasant first outing of the year. Only negative point is the potholes in the approach road which were a pain but with the building works going on in the college I can understand why they are not being filled in. The wardens are very welcoming, helpful and really look after the site. We had no problem with our pitch, plenty of room for our car, van and awning. The toilet facilities were very modern, spotless clean and warm, a pleasure to shower in there. I notice people have mentioned the gunshots. We did hear them occasionally but not a problem to us, didn’t hear any early in the morning and we were sited not far from the boundary fence. Overall the site is fab, extremely well looked after and maintained, we will definitely return

Almost perfect

Arrived late on a Friday afternoon and we are fairly new to caravanning. Couldnt figure why no power. Apperently you have to push in and turn. This would have saved a lot of stress if a note was on the connection. The site is lovely , toilets fantastic and plenty of showers. Didnt appreciate being woken by gunshot early in the morning as in other comments. Loved listening to the woodpecker though. Great that you can leave the car and walk into Cirencester from the park. We struggled to get our car on the pitch and it was annoying to see that the motorhomes had taken most of the wider pitches but not using all of it. I would return however as the staff are very freindly and the site is convenient.

Good location

Arrived late Friday afternoon for our first weekend break of the season. Lovely welcome from the warden. Soon found our ideal pitch. I will comment that I thought the pitch was quite narrow if you wanted to use an awning. Heard a few gunshots from the park but thought nothing about it. Our dog did not seem to take any notice but she has in the past been frightened by gunshots. Saturday 7:00am woken by gunshots. Spoke to the wardens who informed me that they do have some private shoots in the park, but Not on a regular basis. Just be wary if you have a very nervous dog. Thankfully it did not bother our dog. Great field for excercising the dog. Cirencester is a lovely town, not spoilt by the usual large national chains found in the typical high street. Lots of lovely independent shops. Certainly will return. Drive slowly and if all people are considerate to each other then the pot holes are not a problem.

Great Site

Fantastic little site, close to the town centre and the wife liked the Fish and chips from the Van on the entrance when we got there. Good to see the toilets cleaned in the afternoon when no one wants to use them, to many sites close the toilets at 10am when people want a shower. We will return.

Excellence as usual

This is our fourth stay, the first during the winter and standards are as high as ever......except for the access road where potholes and traffic can be a pain and have been for the last 3+ years at least. Please CC can you not knock a few heads together and sort this road out for once and all. I am told it is in shared ownership and thus has its difficulties in sorting this out. If the road is allowed to deteriorate further then CC members will not be coming or revisiting in their droves, being put off not only by the adverse comments in this section of the website but also due to damaged cars and caravans. I have suffered, on a previous visit from a burst tyre caused by a bulldozer of a motorhome forcing me into deep, sharp edged potholes which litter the side of the road. I noted on this visit that potholes are getting seriously deep at the entrance to the access road adjacent to the private houses. Access to Cirencester is an easy downhill 20 minute walk and can be through the park or by the dual carriageway. There are plenteous shops, tea rooms, cafes, pubs etc etc to keep one occupied all day along with the Roman Museum that is certainly worth a visit. Access to other Cotswold towns is easy by car so plant to do. The wardens were excellent, keeping the site and facilities in perfect order. Never disappointed and will return....if only to listen to the woodpecker doing his daily morse code practice!
