Pleasant but pitches need dealing with

We regularly visit here out of the main holiday season as it is ideally placed close to home for a weekend away and Cirencester Park is handy for walking. However, as only hard standings are available at this time of year rather than grass pitches the Club really needs to widen the msjority of the pitches to enable a car, caravan & awning to fit the gravelled area side by side. At present it is expected that you park your car in front of the caravan but the pitches are not deep enough to get the car off the site road. Also when manoeuvring it is impossible not to damage the grass verge resulting in a nasty mess whenever it is wet, which it frequently is at this time of year. This must result in an additional expense to the Club which could be easily avoided. The layout of the site means there are several aspects to the one way system which given the number of motorhomes which went the wrong eay needs sorting out, probably with better signage. Otherwise the site facilities were of the usual club standard and several new incentives for dog owners have been introduced such as the Pit Stops and dog washes. Pity that the dog wash nearest the dog walk was not open and the hose piping at the one nearest the exit was so bad that the water dribbled out rather than flowed. Also it would help if it had a decent surface and some drainage rather than just muddy ground. Could do better! These things won’t stop us visiting but it is time some money was spent on this site to bring it up to the required standard.

I don't think it is just about signage. The MH waste disposal point is very poorly positioned close to the end of the bay. Depending on where your waste outlet is, this can mean turning round to face the wrong way on the one way system. This plus the fact that for a considerable part of the site it is necessary to leave and re-enter to even get to it.

Nice site though, one of our favourites.

We like the site and agree with some of your "concerns" but as these reviews are very rarely seen by HO  sites staff, we find a conversation with the wardens tends to get a more informative answer, and as they admit, it is more often after the event they find out about any perceived problems for them to take forward or deal with

Actually, the site has been considerably improved over the past 5 years with several serviced pitches introduced (if that can be considered an improvement) and several of the HS pitches widened and resurfaced. It is true that there are a number of older narrower HS pitches but we never had a problem parking the car across the front of the pitch if we needed to. But we always aimed for the grass pitches when they were open anyway.

But don't just take my (or anyone else's) word for it. The only way to be convinced would be to revisit the site yourself - but that ain't going to happen is it? laughing
