Fabulous site!

Just back form a fab wk-end spent at this wonderful site, conveniently situated just off the A470 & within easy reach to so many attractions in the Snowdonia National Park. Spotlessly clean & peaceful... the only thing that could have improved our stay was the weather!! A drying room would have been handy therefore. One other small criticism.... as novices to caravanning (this was our 4th time away), we spent an hour trying to connect our van to the Electricity supply without success....when we sought help from the friendly staff @ reception, we were told that we needed to turn the connector in a half-circle clockwise  for it to work! Had we known/been informed about this earlier on arrival, it would have got our holiday off to a more pleasant start!! However, we'll be back & will know next time!!

Trains Trains Trains

We stayed here for 5 days to explore North Wales. We were specifically here for all the little steam trains for my youngest who has Autism. Its a lovely quiet site and the toilet blocks are immaculate , the only slight criticism is the shower pressure but its absolutely not unbearable. The pitches are level and tucked away in little cul d sacs and the play park was far enough away not to be too noisy. Its perfectly placed for visits to all the Trains of North Wales and Portmadog is a lovely wee place ..the geritage railway their were particularly kind to our train obsessed little boy ...

Clean, comfortable and quiet

Very convenient for North Wales without having to negotiate some of the awkward roads further north. Going Bala way it's only an hour and a half from Shrewsbury. Everything very pleasantly organised without feeling regimented like some other sites. My only minor suggestion would be that they could stock post cards and stamps. In fact I think the Caravan Club could do a series of postcards themselves of caravans through the ages from the twenties till now.

Ideal for MBK, walking etc

Just back from a week at this great site. went with our 3 children. we do like the quieter site, and this was. still had great play park for kids and open space for ball games. site spotlessly clean. Annex toilet block meant you always had access to a toilet and shower during cleaning times. Within 9 miles of the superb Coed-Y-Brenin which caters for mountain bikers like ourselves, and also walkers/runners/little ones/goecachers. Within 40mins of Snowdon which we also climbed. Rained most of the week but we still had a fab time. The only suggestion I could make to the site would be to add a Drying room, with all the outdoor pursuits in the area, and often wet weather, a drying room was a miss.

Peaceful

1st time visiting this site, quiet and peaceful, well maintained and very clean. Dog walking area was not big however was adequate just to allow your dog to go to the toilet. Perfectly situated for trips inland and coastal areas. Will defiantly use the site again.

No longer dog friendly

We have been coming to this site for years and have enjoyed every visit until this last one, we arrived on Friday 10/7/2015 and I went into the office to book in as usual, my hubby got the pups out of the back as the car as it was hot and one of them had been sick, as soon as he saw them the warden said "Don't let them wee on the grass, their's a dog walk down the road", how he expected us to take the dogs for a walk before we'd finished booking in I don't know, wrong attitude altogether, didn't realise the Caravan Club was going anti dog, we always clear up after our dogs and have never been greeted with this attitude, spoilt our whole weekend, as we didn't even feel we could sit outside the van with the dogs, in case they needed a wee, will not be returning to this site while this particulr warden is in place, there were a few people saying the same thing, one neighbour said he had been told at least 5 times, even though his dog hadn't wee'd on his precious grass, I was under the impression that was why we paid our Caravan Club fee's so we could enjoy times in our caravan with our fur babies, maybe have to try the caravan and camping club if these are the type of wardens that the Caravan Club want to employ.

Peace perfect peace.

My wife and I have just returned from spending 14 nights at this wonderful, peaceful sight. Spacious yet cozy, set in tranquil surroundings. First rate wardens who keep everything spotlessly clean. The location is perfect for touring around from Barmouth to Anglsey and the Llyn Peninsula.   The Oakley Arms about 2 mls away on the Porthmadoch road serves excellent meals all day and a Sunday Carvery (booking advisable).

A great holiday

Just had 10 nights here  Our first holiday in Wales since 1981  We came mainly for the "Great Little Trains", most are within reasonable reach of the site  The site itself was well kept, neat & tidy and the facilities clean  The only thing we could fault was the water pressure You have to practically lean on the back wall of the shower to get covered in water!  If you visit here you must spend a day round the Lleyn Peninsula  It is so beautiful, particularly Abersoch with it's lovely harbour

Lovely site ideal for Swondonia and more...

This a lovely site right on the doorstep to the national park. It is a credit to the wardens who keep this in immaculate condition. They are very knowledgeable and have details of local walks to loan out for a small donation to the local air ambulance service, a very worthy cause.  Our only gripe, as dog owners, is directed to those owners less responsible than us; there is a small but adequate dog walk and some owners still thought it acceptable to not clear up after their dogs on site, letting them off lead and not paying attention, prompting the wardens to have to put a sign up following grass cutting. Wardens have a tough enough job as it is without this.

Lovely quiet site in lovely Snowdonia National Park

We really enjoyed our week stay at this site. One of the quietest sites we have stayed on and we liked the way the site is laid out in small individual areas, making a real feel of your own community and engaging with your neighbours. Easy access to Snowdonia, beautiful and enjoyable. Spotlessly clean, well done and thank you Wardens!!
