We stayed here for only one night on our way back from Scotland to Devon. Welcomed by warm and friendly staff and as others have noted, this site is on a hill. Most of the pitches are under trees, and are shaded. We managed to find a level pitch with some sun, when it appeared. We had plenty of rain. The shower blocks are excellent with no push button showers, and the access is by key only! There are a lot of birds around and many were not shy, showing themselves well. Access to the lake is easy from the bottom of the site but it is through a campsite (presumably the reason for the key access to the toilets etc, to stop campers sneaking in!) Arriving to the site from the south is OK, but it is very tight in places if you are arriving from Windermere in a motorhome! Looking forward to the next visit.
