Stunning campsite in a breathtaking location.
Lovely staff, full of information and a friendly greeting everytime you see them
The beach is amazing and just a very short walk from the site.
Views from the van every morning we're stunning even when we had stormy weather.
Site is no peaceful and quiet.
John O'Groats is a short drive away.
Lovely site, would love to come back, only negative is it's so far from our home on the south coast of England!
Great beach!
Stopped over for 2 nights on our tour of the NC500. A friendly welcome on our arrival and when ever we saw the couple on site. Amenities all clean. Small shop in reception. Pitches were all grass so luckily the pitches were not sodden as our Motorhome May have sunk! Great views over Dunnet Bay. Beautiful beach to take a leisurely stroll to the Harbour to have a Picnic. You will need bikes or a car to explore more. John O’Groats is worth a visit. Note for dog owners the nearest hotel/bar is not dog friendly inside.
AMAZING!!!!
What a fantastic site!! Stayed in August for 6 nights, the site is well maintained by the most amazing staff Alan and Clare. Lovely welcome on arrival, reception area has a variety of frozen food, snacks and drink items available to buy at excellent prices. There are also NC500 items to buy too. Great information room with maps, leaflets and current local events. Toilet and shower blocks are spotless, as is the kitchen area. Short path from the site to the beautiful beach, we enjoyed great days out in the water. Local surf school available next to the site offering single and group lessons. Alan has his 'Pizza Box' on site twice a week, WOW best freshly made pizzas ever! Highly recommend Dunnet Bay, we will be back again! Thanks again to Alan & Clare
Lovely beach site
Dunnet Bay is a fabulous spot. Right on the beach with a short walk over the dunes.
Flat pitches.
Wonderful walks and if you are a good hiker I recommend the headland walk to Dunnet Head but it is around a 5 hour hike there and bac! I saw Puffins on the cliffs.
Will definitely return and stay longer.
Right next to beautiful beach
Perfect location when doing NC500 or just visiting the North Coast. The beach is right next to the camp site, the dogs loved it! Very friendly welcome and clean facilities. Site itself is just flat with no shelter for wind or shade from the sun.
Beautiful!
This site was in a very beautiful area - and the adjacent beach was stunning!!!
Unfortunately the weather wasn't brilliant and it was so cold, despite being in June - but it didn't spoil our enjoyment!!
NC 500 at long last
Traveling the NC 500 at long last what a beautiful site, perfect location right next to an amazing beach, gin distillery just down the road it couldn’t get better. Site wardens so friendly and helpful
Facilities always really clean

Yet another fabulous site.
This is my fifth Club site I am using, while doing the NC500, I had a great pitch on front row overlooking the bay. Dropped off caravan and spent two days exploring and covering the NC500 route that would not be able to do with it on. Facilities were clean and never had to wait for shower although site was full. Great place to base yourself and explore.
Brilliant staff, stunning location, a must visit.
We decided to stay at Dunnet Bay very last minute after a few terrible weather days while on the NC500, we were supposed to free camp elsewhere but hoped a stay at a campsite with facilities would make things a bit easier. Speaking with Clara she was exceptionally helpful when I rang to enquire about a pitch and welcomed us to come as soon as we were in the area.
Both Clara and Alan were so helpful once we arrived, giving us advice on our pitch during a particularly stormy day, honestly they couldn't do enough to help us as new VW campers. The reception had all the essential supplies, and some lovely little NC500 & Scottish gifts we hadn't seen anywhere else.
The views from the site were phenomenal, the beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Kite surfers were taking advantage of the wind and we stood watching for a while as it was so peaceful, the soothing sound of the crashing waves could be heard even while in our van.
The facilities were top notch, warm and very clean and exactly what we needed while trying to dodge rainy weather.
We're so glad we decided to stay, and that we got to meet Clara and Alan.
When we're able to go back up to the North Coast we will definitely be looking to add another stay at Dunnet Bay.
