Good for families

To please the dogs

This site has the most fantastic location. We parked our motorhome within yards of the extensive flat beach. Our two springer spaniels were able to run for miles everyday. For the entire week there was no need to put a lead on them as we parked right by the path to the beach so they ran straight from the motorhome down onto the sand without upsetting any fellow campers. Most days there were only a handful of other people on the beach other days no one else on the beach. The sea was very cold but it did not stop the dogs going in. Only thing to note is that on a few days we had lots of very large jelly fish washed up. We plan to go back next year. This time we will buy the local gin before we arrive not as we depart! If you are looking for lots of entertainment this is not the place for you. Ideal for children who are happy with the good old fashioned idea of playing on the beach. Bring a wet suit for the water. Jasper and Moriarti give it full maks.

Your dogs went a few feet from your unit to the gate without being on a lead and they also went down the path and steps through the dunes off lead. Please spare a thought for those people whose dogs don’t react well to other dogs and for those people who are not keen on dogs. That path is for general access to the beach and not for the sole use of dog walkers.

Please follow the site rules about dogs needing to be kept on leads of no more than 2m on site and also consider fellow path users. Keep your dogs on leads in a responsible manner until you reach the beach which will also ensure the safety of your dogs as, without leads, you cannot see what trouble they may be running into. It’s very possible for adders to live in the long grass of the dunes and you mentioned jelly fish on the beach. Sometimes there are nesting seabirds in the grass which shouldn’t be disturbed.

In short, please act responsibly and don’t give dog owners a bad name.
