Englethwaite Hall 'Passing Through'

This is a great, well run little site . Its location, about 100+ miles North of Manchester/Liverpool or about the same, South of Glasgow/Edinburgh is ideal for breaking a long journey North or South. It is kept immaculate, as members would expect but the small team of Fiona, Lewis and Zorro the Cat, will always seek to surpass the expectations of even the most discerning member. A real gem, with customer service of the highest level.

A Great Site

We have been meaning to visit this site for a while and so we stopped for two nights this weekend on our way back from Scotland. Excellent site with a great choice of pitches, great walks from the site including to the local pub in Cotehill (excellent 30 minute dog walk away), very friendly wardens. Very inpressed and will certainly return. Highly recommended.

Lovely, Peaceful site, within reach of many Cumbria attractions

2nd visit to this site, the pitches have improved vastly and are well presented and in lovely surroundings. The site itself is lovely, very green and full of wildlife, I photographed two different species of Woodpeckers from the caravan window. The peace and quiet of this site is only broken by the bird song. You do need your car though, but many of Cumbrias attractions are within a short car journey. Staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Very nice site

First visit to Carlisle and wanted a nice and quiet site. This was just the one with very friendly wardens. The pitch we chose was perfect and as long as you don't need a toilet block which we don't it's great. The site is within easy reach of Carlisle.

wonderful time. Saved by the Wardens.

We had just exchanged our van and this was our first holiday out with it. Some problems were to be expected but nothing like we imagined. Without the help and support of a fellow caravanner and LEWIS AND FIONA I think we have come home. They were absolutely wonderful, my hubbie is disabled and we were really struggling but, they save our day. We cannot thank them enough for their help, humour and back up. Please pass our comments on to your very understanding staff. The site is really tranquil and suited us both as we needed some peace and quiet. The ice cream is heaven, we even brought a few tubs home to remind us of our time there.

Peace and tranquility

We have stayed here three times and enjoyed every moment. Absolute haven if seeking peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting. Would rate this as the top UK site if WiFi and toilet block were available. Have always used this as a stopover en route to Scotland but plan to have a longer stay next year.

This is a nice one

Love this one, great for the dogs, amazing walk through the woods behind the site, stunning green lake. Only marked down by lack of showers etc, but even so would go again!

Peace and quiet

We have only used this site for overnight stops as we travel between England and Scotland, but find it very welcoming, clean and quiet. It also has the best dog-walking areas we have found on any site. Our only grouse is not with the club but with a man who thought it fine to fill up his water carriers from the tap on our super pitch instead of walking to the facilities provided. We were on the way home from my wife having surgery in Scotland, so chose to ignore it, but thought it very rude!!
