I found this little haven of peace and tranquillity for an overnight stop between the Moray coast and Warwickshire. I would love to return for a longer stay in the future.
Hidden Treasure
We stayed here for four nights. Lots of people came and went en route north or south for just one night, as the site is handy for the M6, but boy, did they miss out! This is a beautifully kept site, with lovely flowers and shrubs, the pitches are large and flat. There are meandering paths around the site for walks, as well as an off-lead field. But immediately adjacent is a beautiful and extensive woodland with many walks, some ponds, and this is the way to the nearby village pub. We didn't try the pub ourselves but were told it was dog-friendly.
The wardens were super-friendly and there is a small shop for essentials and non-essentials, like ice cream!
The villages round and about were charming, the countryside very pretty.
There are no toilet facilities on site, which is surprising, but everything else was in tip-top order including the recycling.
We will definitely return.
Tranquil
This is a lovely site which is well maintained and kept spotless by the on-site wardens. It is a superbly tranquil place where you feel very close to nature. There are a few walks direct from the site some of which might involve walking along the quiet local roads. There are also some delightful little villages within easy reach. It really is a super place to chill.
Just beautiful
What a beautiful site the wardens keep this site in tip top condition and are very welcoming. There are no facilities and no play grounds for children this not a criticism as this is why we chose this site for its tranquil surroundings. And it’s beautiful morning chorus of bird song We had a serviced pitch but the waste and emptying facilities are well situated around the site. The area is fantastic for quiet walks and RSPB Geltsdale Is a short drive and a lovely walk in the hills and a definite is RSPB Mearsehead in Dumfries & Galloway which is absolutely stunning if you like deserted beaches. The lakes and tourist attractions are in easy reach.
5 night stay
Just returned from a really enjoyable 5 night stay. What a gem of a site. Beautifully kept by the excellent team of wardens. Pitches are level and well placed in peaceful terraced glades with abundant bird life. The new covered disposal points are a great asset, well situated without being obtrusive. The site is within easy reach of the Lake District, Carlisle and all the Roman sites along Hadrian's wall. I feel the site would benefit from more serviced pitches given there are no facilities. However I do feel the provision of facilities would spoil the site. We will definitely be back.

Shame no ablutions facilities. And therefore very expensive really in comparison to other sites that have such facilities nearby
Perfection in the countryside
We have stayed here several times over the years and love it. It is spacious, spotless and welcoming.
Maybe not too great for children, but wonderful for dogs. The dedicated dog walk, leading to a fully enclosed exercise field is exceptionally good, as well as the attached woodland and lakeside walks.
Added to all this, the England girls beat Germany in the European Cup whilst we were there.
What more could one ask for. 😀
One of the best sites in the network
Just had a week at what is our favourite Club site. Beautifully set within trees, very quiet and the site managers are excellent especially the way they look after the site. Just one caveat: this is the third time we’ve been faced with ‘road closed’ signs. The first time it was the water company (had to reverse the van in a fairly narrow B road until we could do a six point turn), second time it was just closed, diversion not bad via a housing estate and today the gas company had dug a trench and the diversion was via a narrow lane. All good fun and not the site managers’ fault. Reckon it’s us that jinx the place.
A gem of a site!
We stayed over for 2 nights on our way to Scotland. We have never been to a club site without a shower block and as a family of four this would only suit us for a short stay, so a weekend for example. It is however, such a beautiful, peaceful and pretty site - the best I have visited in terms of how pretty and well kept it is.
If you don't need facilities, and enjoy nature, then this is the site for you. I just wish it was closer to us as I would absolutely visit it for weekends to "get away from it all". It provides an excellent base for cycling, and walking and going "off grid".
Hopefully we will return at some point.

A hidden gem
A delightfully peaceful site in a superb location. Friendly and welcoming (relief) wardens and the site is maintained to a high standard. Great access to walks in High Stride wood and well located for access to Carlisle and surrounds.
