Peaceful Site

Lovely peaceful site, staff are welcoming and friendly. It is split into sections so we could find a quiet spot. Beautiful woodland setting with Red squirrels (unfortunately we didn't see one) Situated close to the M6, we stopped over on the way to Scotland and certainly will again. Don't use sat nav / postcode to find. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A welcoming site

The site wardens went out of their way to fit my wife and I in this bank holiday weekend. As it was also our first time in a caravan they did their utmost to get us close to our experienced friends, explained any necessary rules and regulations and were exceptionally patient and kind. A credit to the club.

Great place to spend a few days

This is a great place to spend a few days it is a quiet and restful site within easy reach of plenty of places to visit. The local pubs serve good food and the village shop is not fare away and has very friendly staff. The site wardens are very helpful and keep the place neat and tidy. If you have a dog it will think it is in heaven with plenty of walks around the site. I was a bit disappointed by the number of pitches taken up by vacant vans with nobody using them. This reduced the choice of pitches but to be honest it was not a problem at the time of my visit but it could be at other times.

An ideal stop over site

We booked this site for a four night stop over on our way up to Scotland arriving on a Friday. On the Saturday the wardens had arranged a party in aid of the Prince's Trust. A marquee was erected on the site everyone contributed food and drink and with the bonus of good weather everyone had a good time.  The site is set in rural countryside within a fairly short distance to the M6 and is easy to find if you follow the directions given in the Club Handbook. It is a very peaceful site and it is easy to relax and take in the country air. There is no toilet block but the site is well maintained tidy and clean. We were so impressed that we arranged to call in for a stop over on our return from Scotland (which entailed having to cancel a previous booking on another Club site. Because there was no wifi available on the site the Warden offered to do the relevant cancellation work for us. The only downside for this site is that newspapers are only available on site on Saturdays and Sundays. If you require a newspaper during the week you have to make a specific journey to one of the nearest villages which are about 5 miles from the site.

A Little Gem

A lovely site set in beautiful countryside. I stayed here for 2 nights as I made my way up north to Scotland. I liked it so much I booked in again on my way back down south. It really is a little oasis of peace and quiet - just what you need after a long drive. I enjoyed my visits so much I'm tempted to book in again for a much longer stay next time. I agree with those people who don't want to see this site changed by the addition on a toilet block. Keep it just as it is - it's a little gem.

The Best!!!!

We have been using this site for years and it is still our favourite, please please don't change it by adding toilet facilities. We think that this most beautiful and peaceful site should be kept as it is. Outstanding!!!!

Love it!!!

Just back from 4 fabulous nights away on this fantastic site.  If you want hussle and bussle stay away from here as it really will not suit you, however if you want peace and tranquility then this may be the haven you seek out. This has to be the most peaceful site on the network. Surrounded by stunning countryside, lovely walks, beautiful villages and an abundance of wildlife. We never left the site for 3 days and were more than content taking in this site, the weather did help as it was fantastic. Lovely short walks around the nearby lakes and plenty of wildlife to see. The absence of a toilet block is one of the appeals of the site and due to this it remains relatively quiet even in peak season. The club would really spoil this site if a toilet block was ever erected and that would put us and many other members off coming here.  The wardens here are really friendly and helpful and even do a fish and chip run for you on a Friday night as long as you pre order, now there's service for you. If you support animal welfare try a visit to the animal sanctuary on the approach road at Wetheral Shield.  Really good tea room there supporting a good charity.  Cannot wait for our return visits and this is firmly our favourite site.

Lovely Night Enroute

A great stopover if you want a peaceful nights sleep. Only the second C.C site I have stayed on and I will visit again next year. If you want all the facilities then not a site to stay at. It's the 1st time for me with no toilet block and it was definitely missed.
