We love love love Garlieston

Garlieston is a very special place for me my father was born in Sorbie and as a child we came to visit the area each summer. To be able to visit with our caravan and our two cocker spaniels when we feel like it as we are retired is just perfect as is the site. The wardens are welcoming on arrival with plenty of help but they then leave you to get on with your holiday and are not in your face. The site is immaculate we like to be in the walled garden which is spacious and very peaceful.lovely dog walks either on the shore or if want to go further lovely walk down to Rigg bay and away down to Cruggleton Castle ruins lovely views to Isle of Whithorn. Or you can go in the other direction round the bay through the woods both of these walks were given to us on arrival by the wardens thank you.The local pub is good with tasty food and a must visit also the mobile fish and chip van on a Friday good fish and chips and lots of locals getting them always a good sign. If you really want to venture further away lots of attractions await you Galloway Forest Wigtown Isle of Whithorn up the Stranraer coast road to Port William and Port Patrick .Garlieston club site will always be one of my very favourite sites and we will continue to visit regularly
