Peaceful

Very quiet peaceful site, laid out on terraces. Pleasant, helpful wardens. Excellent walk going high up over the top of the hill behind the site, although steep and footpath signs are not great. You need to drive to other local places - Lake Vyrnwy is lovely, approx 40 mins away. As said previously, the sign for the site is missing from both directions on the main road, so easy to miss the entrance, but sat nav got it right

Little gem

Lovely site. Very peaceful. Lovely views. The wardens were really lovely and helpful. Very dog friendly with two dog walks and plenty of ‘poo’ bins. No shower or toilets, but we didn’t need that. Plenty of facilities for water, waste etc dotted about the site. It’s a tiered site, so maybe not for the less mobile, but it does offer more privacy than usual. The only down side is that there is not much around the site in the way of shops / cafe / meals. Definitely need to use your car to get around. However, if you want a quiet peaceful break, this is highly recommended.

A hidden hideaway

We booked onto this site for three nights as it was featured on the clubs promotions of £15 per night. What a delightful time we had. If you are the type of camper that is happy to not have all the mod cons of a fully equipped site then this this gem is worth a visit. On a steep hill with pitches set out on several levels with lovely views over to the hills. The scenery in this part of Wales is breathtaking and if you like walking and getting away from it all then you will love it here. Close by the lovely seaside town of Aberdovey is worth a visit and day at the beach weather permitting. Has a dog friendly beach too. The wardens were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely going back.

Peaceful BH Site

A fabulously peaceful bolthole for a bank holiday weekend. Started well with a great welcome from the wardens Pete and Janet. The site is tiered and the site road winds back and forth between the tiers. Wonderful views across the valley from most of the pitches. It definitely helps if you have a mover so you can pitch back to front. Plenty of service points and a lovely dog walk Ann’s all for £15.00 a night for two adults BH weekend.

Brilliant May bank holiday

We stayed for the first May bank holiday in our campervan. Returning after 10 years last time in a caravan. Site just as lovely as we remembered lots of birds about. Wardens were brilliant hoping to return soon xx

Nice!

Stayed for Easter break. £15 value site without toilet block which suits us. Three service points which is excellent for the size of the site. Good views from most pitches. Great wardens, friendly and welcoming, two of the best l have known in 25 yrs of membership. The only downside is the lack of a supermarket within 20 odd miles, but if you are aware you can prepare for this. Great views scenery on the road to Dolgellau. Stay here, l don't think you will be disappointed.

Perfect for a two night stopover

Peter and Janet couldn't have been more helpful when I order from the menu "some mountains and waterfalls to visit please"!!!! Thanks to them my brief visit enabled me to see of the wonderful scenery on offer in this part of North Wales. I look forward to visiting again this delightful little site.

Little Gem

We stayed at this site on our way to Snowdonia and what a beautiful site it is. The current wardens Peter and Janet were so welcoming, friendly, and informative. The site was well maintained and they obviously take pride in the site and work very hard to keep it in tip top condition. We found the site so quiet and tranquil with outstanding views from the top of the site. This is a must for nature lovers and those seeking peace and tranquility. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Plain and Peaceful

A lovely peaceful no frills site in mid Wales. Well kept by the current wardens (The Bowlers) who were very friendly and helpful - there when needed and not "in your face" - thank you! Terraced site mostly hardstanding but even so we needed levelling blocks for the slight slope on our chosen pitch from which we had a lovely view of the hills across the valley. The service points all kept in very good order. Hill walking is ok from the site, cycling not for the faint hearted - turn left out of the gate straight on to an 18% hill or turn right and on to the A470. Local village just down the road but main places of interest are a good distance by car. As other reviewers have commented, it depends what you want from your stay. An enjoyable 8 night break, thank you.
