Well overdue for some serious attention

We stayed at High Onn a couple of weeks ago, having first visited nearly 20 years ago. The Wardens were a credit, but the site has been badly let down by the club. The trees have been allowed to grow out of control, and making parts of the site dark, damp and unwelcoming. Yes It looks like the bushes are trimmed back, but the trees need some serious professional attention. The service point by us was rotting. The taps were about to fall off. I suspect it was overdue for replacement quite a few years ago. Now it is a disgrace to the club. The Wardens can't do anything when the fabric of the service point is disintegrating. The hardstanding needs raking out, cleaning and re-laying. Most pitches were full of weeds. I believe that High Onn has been on the network since the early 1960s. It is beautifully located, and is a quiet and tranquil site. It doesn't have the facilities of larger and perhaps more popular sites, but that is exactly its appeal to members like us. I always used to say that you know the standard that you are going to get at a Club site. Well, come on Caravan and Motorhome Club, pull your finger out and get the site back up to standard, and then make sure you keep it there. After ~60 years service can High Onn please received the attention it so richly deserves.

ABSOLUTELY 100% AGREE.  And as usual, the Club - who, let us remember, email us to ask for reviews! - will do NOTHING about it.

A reviewer described the site as 'immaculate' in August. That alone makes me worry. It patently is not.

More of us need to start raising this because the Club is not what it was.
