Good for families

Nice site but, there is always a but.

I have waited a week to write this review so that i let my head rule the review rather than my heart. My wife and I booked at the start of lockdown in March and as we are both front line workers in the NHS and Police we were so looking forward to our holiday and meeting with old friends whom we had not seen for over 18mths. As members the site was exactly as we expected well laid out, good facilities, clean and tidy, although a little out of the way but with great walks from the site. Upon our arrival my wife booked in as I called our friends to say we had arrived. We were allowed entry and quickly found our friends, and pitched up next to them as a pitch was available. My wife went to advise the red haired duty warden only to be verbally abused as she told her which pitch we had taken as unknown to us one of our friends had been chastised by the same warden for parking on the exact pitch we had taken when he had arrived against the club rules, why was my wife verbally abused as it had nothing to do with her. At first we gave her the benefit of the doubt. However as our holiday progressed we realised that this was the norm rather than the exception from two of the wardens whom we believe were partners, I cannot name them as they did not wear name badges but I can describe them the red haired warden and the clean shaven warden whom we believe were the head wardens as the other two, the blonde haired warden and the man with the goatee beard were generally pleasant and helpful. Of our neighbours six couples were victims of the sharp tongue and ignorant attitude of the same two wardens for a various number of reasons. Even under the current situation we find ourselves in there is no excuse for this attitude and gave a sour taste in the mouth to what was a great holiday and I can honestly say in all the years we have used the club never met such awful wardens. As in our professions if we dealt with people in the same manner we would have been severally disciplined as we were always trained to treat people with respect and told to treat people as we would like to be treat. Also members need to be aware that the site is adjacent to a traveller/homeless site which can be very noisy with dogs, children and motor vehicles. The road can be very noisy at times even when you are at the furthest point on the site from the road. I have never felt the need to leave a review but just feel that the wardens in question were so rude and ignorant and clearly had an attitude problem, if they do not like to deal with the membership they should not have come into the job in the first place as i am sure the training given by the club would have focused on customer care. i am aware that this will not do very much and nothing will happen as the club will blame the COVID situation as an excuse as everyone appears to do at this time and they will not be seen or spoken to but felt other members should be aware of our experiences at Hunters Moon.

Perhaps it might be as well to contact the club directly as this review may not be seen by head office staff.

Btw, I thoroughly recommend Birchwood Tourist Park across the road.

I agree that they may never see this and we, as have my friends tried to contact head office which has met with very little success as they are only dealing with certain parts of the service e.g. insurance and bookings due to COVID, but i will keep trying. The site its self was great just ignorant wardens.

There are several negative reviews regarding these wardens, mine included. They need to go!

We won't return but will stick to the commercial sites in the area. Birchwood is very good, as is Wareham Forest. Norwood Farm is nice too and is close to the Swanage railway, and bus stops.
