Very nice site

Would recommend this site for definite. For those looking for a well kept quiet site, this site is for you. Very pleasant wardens who are very helpful and interested in your enjoyment and well being whilst you are there. This site has beautiful views and has easy access to many places of interest. On reading other past reviews about this site, some dog barking has been mentioned which may put other people off, this isn't the case at all as there was no dog barking the whole time we were on site and would urge anyone who has been put off visiting this site at the mention of persistent dog noise to definitely give it a go.

Peaceful but slightly remote

A pleasant "no facilities" site with a greater sense of space than many club sites. It is, however, somewhat distant from an infrequent public transport system apart from a once a day bus that stops outside the site. The narrow lanes with high hedges do not lend themselves to safe walking although traffic is relatively light. Cycling is OK if you have the "king of the mountains" physique. Neither I nor my wife do and I narrowly avoided divorce proceedings! Realistically, families will need to get in the car to go anywhere. The wardens, new to the site this year, have familiarised themselves with the area to enable them to provide local knowledge.

Another lovely stay.

This is one of the best sites. Wardens very welcoming comes naturally. Site kept immaculately. How many wardens walk around the site as a couple and talk to people as these do. Nothing is too much trouble. I think they should train wardens as they have so many natural qualities. I agree Caravan club need to hold onto wardens like this. When you leave they wish you a safe journey. We look forward to next years caravaning at this site.

Fantastic short stay

We stayed here for only two nights at the end of a longer tour but loved the site and wished we could have stayed longer! The wardens are super friendly and super helpful, recommending the perfect pitch for our van. The location is great and the views are awesome. There are no shower blocks but don't let this put you off. There is a great dog walking field, but if your hound is partial to chasing rabbits keep him / her on a lead! If you fancy a meal out there is a pub in the hamlet just down the road which serves quite nice pub food at reasonable prices. We thoroughly recommend this site

So pleased we decided to renew our seasonal pitch

After our caravan was broken into last season, we were a bit anxious about renewing our seasonal pitch this year. But we are so pleased we did. We love this site, the location, it is immaculate, is peaceful and what can we say about the wardens. Eric & Sharon are truly outstanding and all Wardens should be like this. Friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They keep the site immaculate and we hope that we are lucky enough to be able to season our caravan for 2019/2020. Message to the Caravan Club - Do not let these Wardens go. It will be your loss !!!!

excellent first time site for us, wardens so helpful and really enjoyed being there

Were new to this caravanning and motorhome lark. and booked this site through the club for initially a day as a stopover as we thought we would do some responsible wild camping as well, however we were so well received and the site so rural and clean and great location with a great price we just stayed ..if this is the sort of site we can expect in the future wish I had bought a motorhome years ago!!!! Well done to the wardens..

Truly outstanding site and wardens

Ilfracombe Caravan Club site has a magnetic quality which makes you keep going back! Having visited twice this year already, we’ve decided to take a seasonal pitch for the rest of 2018. The location is fantastic, close to the towns and beaches of Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, and Croyde. A little further afield are Barnstaple, Bideford, Westward Ho!, Clovelly, and Lynton & Lynmouth. The grass is neatly manicured, and the water and waste areas are spotlessly clean. This site is made better by the absence of hard standings as it makes the site even more green and beautiful. There are two fields, with access roads arranged in a figure of eight pattern. The first has some sloping areas, with views to the sea. The second is almost flat, with views towards a Combe. Reviews often mention the barking dogs in the distance. When the wind is in the right direction you can hear them but it’s not enough to keep you awake, or keep you away from this beautiful site. There tends not to be many children on site, however the families who do visit the are always well behaved and it's a pleasure to see the children making new friends and playing together. Eric & Sharon are amongst the finest Wardens we've had the pleasure of meeting. Friendly, professional and always helpful, the passion for their job is reflected in this beautiful site. Highly recommended!

Council - please sort out the barking dogs 2 fields away.

This is a brilliant site. Great location. Great for families. Brilliant. BUT it's ruined by barking dogs from a field 100m away. They barked all day, so we left the site for as long as possible through the day for peace and quiet. Then when we got back at night they barked all night and kept us awake. The council called in to take statement and are apparently taking action but if they haven't sorted it I'm afraid I really wouldn't use the site again. Such a shame because otherwise it's lovely.

Awesome country site

Been a few years since we last visited Brook Lea (ilfracombe) and as always lived up to our expectations. Clean, quiet and great countryside views and lots of lovely fellow club members we have got to know over the years staying on site. Love the new spacing on the pitches. All this topped off with 2 super wardens who were so very welcoming and helpful during our stay. A real jewel in the networks crown and hope the warm spell doesn’t melt the price freeze. 😀

Excellent Value For Money

Our first visit and we will definitely be back. Large, open site with a mix of level and sloping grass pitches - many with views and plenty of space between pitches. Make sure you have an awning strap as it can get a bit breezy!! Friendly and helpful wardens - thanks for taking me to the minor injuries unit and 'yes', I have managed to stay out of further trouble!! Excellent dog walk and although we didn't have children with us, there is a large play area. Easy access to all local beaches and coastal path. Short walk down the lane to West Down village community shop for the paper (beware of traffic which can be quite fast moving). At a time when members seem to be moaning about the cost of pitches, I just don't understand why this site was not even half full. If you're happy to use your own facilities, then at £14 a night, it is an absolute bargain!!
