Will come again

Our first and definitely not last visit. Lovely site with friendly wardens who keep it immaculately tidy. We were entertained by the ducklings parading the site with their Mama's quacking commands like sergeant majors. Lower Wensleydale could well become one of our favourites.

first but not the last visit

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The wardens were helpful in local knowledge and in helping us find a pitch. The site is very clean with a warm shower block with lovely hot water. The site is well located near to lovely walks and attractions. We will definitely return.

Second Visit

We really like this site, shower block is clean and the site it well looked after. The wardens are friendly and very helpful. Leyburn is a 20 minute walk, pub food great and a lovely breakfast at The Posthorn Cafe. Look forward to returning in the summer holidays.

Return to Leyburn

We visited over the Bank Holiday. It was our second visit to the site. The Wardens are very helpful and the site is very well kept and clean. Enjoyed the walk to Leyburn and a trip on the Wensleydale Railway. This was very enjoyable and recommended.

Really enjoyable break

We visited the site for four nights over the Spring Bank Holiday. It's a nice site and easy to reach via the A1. The wardens were particularly helpful and friendly. The site is managed by the club on behalf of the owners and this shows a little in the size of the pitches and distance between them. The showers/toilets are a little dated with no toddler washroom but as usual they are immaculately clean. We've grown to take a playground/dog exercise area for granted on other sites. However all this is reflected in the site fees and the site is well worth a visit. Leyburn is about 20 minutes walk away although, it's a pleasant walk although it's mainly on a busy main road. We visted some really nice pubs (Black Swan Hotel and Sandpiper Inn in particular) and the view from Leyburn Shelf (at the top of town) is well worth a look. The Wensleydale Railway, which runs along the bottom of the site is a great day out.

Great base for that part of the Dales

We stayed over the May Day bank holiday weekend with our 2 children.  Great base for cycling (as long as you like hills!) around Wensleydale, to the Forbidden Corner and various other attractions nearby.  Leyburn is a bit of a walk but our 11 and 8 year olds were fine walking back after a great pub evening meal on one of the evenings.   Showers and toilets immaculate and tropically warm! Friendly team of wardens.   I would certainly recommend it as a great base to explore this part of the Dales.

Lovely site with loads to do.

Our first visit to Lower Wensleydale was in May 2016 was really lovely.  The site is clean, facilities well kept and a the pitches are a bit quirky. The wardens were fantastic, extremely helpful and very knowledgable of the area. We had a lovely walk into Leyburn, great views of the Falls at West Burton and a long hike round to Aysgarth Falls. There is so much to do in the area including the Chocolate Factory (closed Sunday's though) which was just a short walk from the campsite. A great campsite overall and lovely wardens.

Perfect

This site is perfect in every way. Spacious pitches, lots of different levels and nooks and crannies. It was lovely to watch the wildlife from our motorhome. The staff were friendly and helpful. Pleasant walk over the fields into Leyburn. We will definitely be returning

Overall very good

Wardens were extremely helpful and pleasant. Access can be a little hairy but my partner walked ahead to make sure we didn't have to reverse if we met another outfit on the hilly entrance road. Pitches could be quite uneven though.
