Very nice site in a good location

Stayed recently for 3 nights - would have liked it to have been more, but had to get home. Very well run, and everything was kept clean and tidy. Large well spaced pitches, which were mostly level. The staff were very welcoming, and very forthcoming with information when required. I'm not particularly keen on being allocated a pitch. However, I can understand why so many commercial sites do this, as I'm sure that it makes management of the site and their booking systems much easier. The bus to town was very convenient, although not particularly frequent. However, it is worth it to experience the delights of Ludlow. Its a splendid little town with lots of character and history. Walking directly from the site is a bit limited, but I would recommend the walk around Mortimer Forrest. The walk along the lane to get there is not particularly nice because the path is very overgrown, and the traffic is quite fast. However, once there it is very peaceful. It was a pity that there was not a pub/restaurant within walking distance of the site. Ludlow has plenty of these but the buses do not run late enough to be able to get back after an evening out. However, you can't have everything.
