Great Location

We stayed for 8 nights in June / July 2019. The site is located actually in Melrose within easy walking distance of shops and Melrose Abbey (a must see). It was a little busy when we arrived, with 2 units ahead of us. Despite the signs asking arrivals to stay with their unit until they reach the front of the queue, the Dutch (non-members) in front of us didn't see the sign and so a degree of chaos was caused. Our welcome was amongst the best we've experienced - very friendly and helpful. We found a pitch that backed onto the adjacent tennis courts - the trade off for having a larger pitch are occasional tennis balls over the hedge. We did notice that some of the pitches were a little small and it seems to be used as a transit stop for motor homers heading to / from the more popular areas of Scotland. Here's a word of advice.... stay here -there's plenty to do and the scenery is amazing. the loos follow the traditional CAMC layout, perfectly clean and serviceable, but showing their age in a few places with curious little chips in the laminate walls. Bu orders of magnitude better than the commercial site we'd arrived from. Our week was a little noisy as the main road that runs along the back of the site was being rebuilt. There's nothing that can be done about that - and there was some noise late into Saturday night from the Rugby Club across the road. Pity we weren't there 2 weeks earlier as we'd have had a free concert by the Proclaimers (especially appropriate as we were 500 miles from home). Overall, a great site in a great location with enough stuff to do around to keep you busy for 2 weeks. We left with reluctance to come home.
