Good for families

Not my cup of tea

Stayed for three nights. Temporary wardens were polite but could not answer a query of mine or sell me a product they stocked - they couldn't find where it was kept. They did manage the site during our stay and kept it clean and tidy. Notices were in abundance, some out of date. It is a busy site. Showers warm enough - we found the toilet block OK. Site is flat with some hedgerows for the birds. Other than that, it was not much more than a posh car park. Motorhome service point is designed for those with the waste tap on the nearside, otherwise its a reverse in job in an area busy with people. Chemical waste point is in a 'cupboard' and boy, does it smell! Melrose is a small town with a good Co-op and a ruined Abbey. That's about it. The surrounding area is good for walking whether on the hills or the flat river valley. Two of the local roads were closed for resurfacing which is really needed because some roads were atrocious.
