What's with the hideous flashing lights??????

Stayed for two weeks 7th to 22nd Aug. Positives; quiet location (exc car alarms & obnoxious groips) easy access to St Mawes & Truro (we avoided congested places) great fish & chip van (didn't try the pizzas) shop sells lovely ice cream nice walks to the beach and other coastal routes hardworking wardens clean & tidy refuse/disposal areas Negatives; upon arrival it was a race to find a pitch which was stressful and annoying, as navigating a long unit on bendy roads with random flower pots and trying to avoid sunbathers was insane. Irresponsible dog owners, if you can't keep your dog(s) on a lead and consider others, then keep away. I saw a dog drop a bomb on someone else's pitch, and it had a good lick around my olives that were on a table uuuggghhh Loud obnoxious groups (not all groups, but anyone loud was amongst multiple families). To these individuals that this applies to, we other insignificant campers are not enthralled or regaled with your conversations all competing to o be heard. Non parenting of kids, wizzing around bends at insane speeds, making a mockery of the motor vehicles 5mph rule. Car alarms!!!!! I'm sorry, but for repeat offenders, sod off and give us some peace LIGHTS!!!! fairy light are fairly innocuous, these are forgivable. Those tall thin pole thingies, with flashing, chasing lights are simply HIDEOUS. Why on earth would anyone think these offer any joy to campers that opt to stay in the countryside, sleeping under the stars, just enjoying the simple life? Does it not tell you anything, that on average ONLY 1-5 units out of 177 opt to display these ghastly objects. Of course each to their own, but if this is what floats your boat, go to Butlins, Blackpool OR a simpler solution would be for CMC to BAN them. Honestly, if one of these had been flashing all night through my windows, I would have cut their cable and gone to prison for it. All this said, I would go again, as I strongly suspect, the negatives mentioned are rife on other sites up and down the country UNFORTUNATELY

Wouldn’t it be nice if people realised the many different ways that people enjoy their holidays? It would be lovely if people would be more tolerant of differences. We’re sitting right now in the sunshine on a site listening to our neighbours’ music and the chatter of the children across the way. It’s absolutely wonderful!

Well obviously this is a dig at us, the lights were on for no more than two hours during evening darkness, they were promptly turned off within the guidelines I’ve stated. Did you come and speak to me.......................NO because you ain’t got the intelligence to do so because if you had I would’ve turned them off. Now for the rest of the site and all the children we had nothing but compliments. Just to let you know I’ll be back on Merrose for the same period next year. It’s a shame the world of the 21st century is full of miserable people.
