Little gem close the lovely town of Minehead

We enjoyed a 4 night stay at this lovely site. We originally booked for 3 nights but decided to stay for an extra night as were enjoying the walking so much. The site is beautifully maintained and the wardens are friendly and helpful. There is an excellent Information Room where you can find everything you need except maps but these are available to buy from the office. The small local map is cheaper to buy in the site office than in Minehead Information Centre. The facilities are well maintained and clean and the pitch we stayed on (number 22) was level, weed free and the grass had just been cut. The location is brilliant for Minehead with an easy 10-15 minute walk and there are plenty of places in Minehead to eat and drink. Alcombe's facilities are also just a 5 minute walk away and the Indian Restaurant there is excellent. They have a banquet night on Tuesday and Wednesday where you can have a 3 course meal for £12.50. Alcombe also has a bakery, fish and chip shop, pizza takeaway and chinese takeaway as well as a co-op, so everything you could want is close by. Tom's fish and chip shop in Minehead is lovely as well. If there is just one thing on the site that needs improving, it is the water pressure. We tried to put water into our motorhome on arrival using our flexi-hose and it took ages as the pressure was so poor. We had to give up in the end as someone else was waiting to use it. Despite this, we would still go back as it's such a lovely site in a great location with friendly and helpful wardens.
