What a great site!

As others have mentioned, this is a gem, a real find and all that you could want. I normally stay on CLs, preferring the peace and quiet but Moorhampton has all the benefits of a Club Site and yet retains that special feel of a small, cosy, quiet and beautifully located place. Facilities were "as usual" ie excellent CC standard. Warm, clean and efficient, WC/Shower block with enough units to service all on the site. Flat, well drained pitches and lovely trees, views etc. Hereford is a beautiful, historic city (visit the Cathedral!) but don't miss driving, or cycling (we peddled 50k) around the typical English villages with wooden framed houses and tempting pubs and quality restaurants (all well documented in the information hut - We'd recommend the Indian Restaurant in Weobley). The Leafman will return! PS We had a disappointing next CC CL site (in Wales) which just emphasises how good the "usual CC" standard is...

Peaceful little gem

This is an easy to reach site about 7 miles from Hereford but in quiet countryside. The warden John was extremely helpful and amusing and there were plenty of pitches to choose from. There are plenty of places to visit within an hours drive and the nearby village of woebly has a cost cutter shop, post office, cafe, restaurant and pub. I hope the rumours about closure aren't true as a lot of us enjoy the smaller sites.

A jewel of a site

What you say that's not already been said a quite and relaxing site the wardens are helpful and the facilities are great and as the site was not to busy when we visited quite ample for the size of the site. But Hereford only 10 miles away great place to visit and Hay on Whe so close for those who love to visit the host of book shops .I would say one of the best sites we have used and we will return.

Quiet relaxing site

We found this site to be a peaceful and relaxing set in lovely countryside. There is plenty to do in the area in terms of: countryside drives around the 'black and white villages' including the the lovely village of Weobley which is 5 miles from the site; countryside walks; there two National Trust properties within 15 miles or so (Croft Castle and Berrington Hall); the towns of Hereford, Leominster and Ludlow are within 10 - 20 miles distance; and we enjoyed a lovely circular drive to Rhyader and the Elan Valley in Wales returning by Builth Wells and Hay on Wye 'the book village'. Will certainly visit this site again.

A Peaceful Haven

We are regular visitors to Hereford to visit a family grave, so this site is ideal for us. We think it is a lovely little site and probably the most peaceful site we have ever been to. It's a refreshing change from the usual hustle and bustle of the bigger sites. I hope it stays open.

Excellent site so glad we went there

We loved this site, wardens were really friendly, site was quiet , clean and we'll kept. A great place to stay while visiting all the great places surrounding. Will have to go again as did not have time to visit everything we wanted to . Bonus as we belong to National Trust so did Berrington and Croft . Highly recommend.

What a find!

Stopped for one night to break a long journey south. The wardens were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.  The site and facilities were immaculate, and it was one of the most peaceful sites we have ever stayed on; we usually head north to wild Scotland, and live in the countryside, so have a high benchmark. I was amused at the sign on the info. room door to keep closed due to 'low-flying swallows'! We plan to return for a longer stay, in order to explore the area more fully, so are horrified to read here of a threat to the site; please keep this site open CC!

A gem

We stayed at this site for the first time at the beginning of July and have nothing but praise for it. The warden and staff were friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of the facilities was excellent There is no wifi and the phone signal is more or less non existent It was actually very liberating to be without these necessities of modern living for a while! There are lots of things to do in the area and we would certainly go back. Reading some of the comments in the visitors book, it seems that the future of this site has been/is in doubt. All I can say to the  CC is that it would be very sad if it was closed, as it is a lovely peaceful place to spend some time.

The site of a hidden gem in the Caravan Club sites book

Stayed here for few days in June 2016 pre brexit vote the wardens were welcoming and helpful the site is of historical interest especially for railway enthusiasts. Plenty of walks around the area with access to Hereford ( busy place as it always has been) and Leominster ( town for lovers of antique shopping) also close to Weobley a great village with a butcher shop for sausages of excellent size and flavour, all told a delightfull site would well recommend

An unexpected joy

We have just returned from staying three nights at this site as part of a longer tour of Wales and the south west. One of my major criticisms of our club is the fact that so many of our sites are booked up months in advance. There are club members who are not in a position to make holiday plans so far in advance and we feel that we are being discriminated against by the club's policy in respect of forward bookings. Given that, what a joy it was to find a club site that actually had availability in July. On arrival we were not disappointed. The wardens, Joe and Maureen, were helpful and professional. The site is attractively located and its long thin shape betrays its origins as a former railway station. We had a choice of pitches and were happy with our selection. It is ideally situated for exploring Herefordshire and the Welsh borders, quietly located with no traffic noise. The toilet block has just been refurbished and is well up to the club's usual high standards. We had heard a rumour that this site is under threat of closure. If true, the situation is absolutely scandalous. I understand the commercial imperatives which drive the club's business from day to day, but there has to be room for sites like this which are in less popular areas, but which can at least accommodate late bookers. As I said earlier, we are not all in a position to book sites months in advance. In conclusion, this is the archetypal hidden gem of a site and well worth a visit to discover one of the lesser known, but very beautiful, corners of our country.
