Delightful but under used site

Moorhampton in idealy suited for touring Herefordshire and the Black Mountains. It is in a quite area surrounded by apple orchards. The facilities were excellent and well cared for. We were surprised at how few outfits there were on the site. Most of the week there were just seven piches in use. This is probably because the site book says that there is a 7m. limit on the length of the outfits. However many of the pitches, particularly the grass pitches, could take longer outfits. Couldn't the site booking software take account of this and let a limited number of longer vans book a pitch?

Quiet in the heart of the countryside

Moorhampton is a quiet site with access to the rural heartland of Herefordshire with its black and white cottages. The roads are reasonably quiet and good for cycling with enough small hills to keep it interesting. The site wardens were very helpful and produced a cycling route from the Herefordshire tourist web-site. The site has a slightly difficult access for motorhomes with valve at the side as the water is too close from one of the directions depending on the location on the van. It would be a shame if this site is no longer available.

Something we all need

This is our second trip to Moorhampton and as long as it stays like it is we will keep on going. It is absolutely charming, full of history and situated in an ideal location to explore some fabulous local attractions. Let's hope the Caravan Club appreciates the fact that not all sites need to have children playing football against the side of your caravan, something that I feel will never happen at this wonderful site.

An Oasis of Peace

This site is wonderful for those wishing to recharge their batteries. Note mobile phone and mobile wifi signals non existent (O2, EE and Three) but if you want to get away from it all then this is the site for you. Wonderful places to visit within easy travelling distance. Facilities ready for upgrade but clean. I agree with the comments below regarding the site gate. Better to be safe than sorry.

Lack of security.

A good, well kept peaceful site. Not so good for families, unless more than one family arrive!! Concerned that, despite having a gate and lock at the entrance, these are not used and could affect members insurance if a van is vandalised or stolen. The site is remote, which is in its favour, but the people carrying out caravan theft are well informed and mobile. Please give this some thought - Bladen Chains copes well with a gate and lock used at prescribed times.

Beautiful location

A lovely site but a bit out of the way. We should think that families with small children would prefer somewhere with a playground or similar. However, ideal for couples looking for somewhere quiet. Beautiful, beautiful countryside, Hay on Wye, Leominster and Hereford not too far away. We were lucky with the weather and the staff were marvellous. We enjoyed.

peaceful haven

We stayed at this site twice in one week break returning early from another site to return to end our holiday with the wonderful peace and quiet this site excels in. quite simply the most relaxing break we have ever had, great site, staff and location. Only three ticks for families as no play area so if your self entertaining all is well but if not this may not be for you.

Peaceful little site

We really enjoyed our stay at this site. It is very quiet and tranquil set in a lovely location. The temporary Wardens were very nice and couldn't do enough to help. We would definitely recommend this site and the new boilers are now installed so there is plenty of hot water etc. The site is close to Hereford and Ludlow and the beautiful surrounding countryside is simply stunning.
