Going downhill

This site is a large site 184 pitches. I have visited this site for over 20 years and it now has glamping pods, cycle hire and safari huts. There is a playground and an enclosed dog exercise area. A new access gate allows you to take the footpath to the village or to the garden centre. Moreton is close by and it is undoubtedly why I and other people choose the site. But pitches desperately need upgrading. They now have fully serviced pitches and appear to be doing something following I’m sure negative feedback. The site isn’t cheap and you find people rush for the 1200 entry to try to get a reasonable pitch. Some pitches are near the road, some under pidgeon roosting trees and you would be pretty upset if you paid a premium rate to be here, and it is possible at peak times. The new glamping pods will add to noise levels located near to pitches at the right rear of the site. I listened to this until 0300 one Friday night. I had one day left to suffer the noise else I would have departed. It was horrendous. In this day and age I cannot see why the site doesn’t allow you to book a certain numbered pitch. That would lessen the mad scramble at 1200 and may entice people to return. Some pitches are small and you are inevitably just about 3m between the next van. Some pitches are also really tired and tend to pool water during heavy rainfall. Sadly this will be my last visit. I have cancelled next years bookings, I want reasonable peace, and I need to see radical improvements before I return.
