July 2023

The wardens that were managers were very friendly, the others were not, not even a hello. The site is nice, facilities clean, lots to do around if you have a car. The office wasn't open very long in the mornings which was disappointing and the toilet block closed for too long

North Wales Road Trip

What a lovely area to be in, the site was close to loads of beautiful scenery. The site itself was well kept and pitches were a good size, we had heavy rain whilst we were there and the area you had to drive off the grass to get out did get a bit slushy. I think the timings of cleaning the facilities were not very convenient closing at 10.15 till 12??

Great stopover

We used the site as a stopover a couple of times over the summer. It's a lovely site, with clean & up to date facilities. Lovely, cheerful wardens. A great base for exploring the island if you have a car.

Excellent site

Really enjoyed staying on this site. Nice flat pitches. Great facilities, plenty to go around. Nice big showers. Angelsey is a beautiful island and this site is ideally located to explore all parts. It's also conveniently close to shops. If anyone wants to see red squirrels I highly recommend Nant Y Pandy the Dingle just down the road. The person that feed them there is incredibly enthusiastic about them.

Lovely stay at Penrhos

A last minute booking to take advantage of the good weather around the bank holiday weekend. Surprised to be able to book three nights at a busy time of the year but very pleased. We arrived on the Thursday and received a very warm and friendly welcome from the warden. There was no queue at 1.15 p.m. and lots of empty pitches to choose from. The pitches were large and neat with most having a good area of mown grass around them although some at the higher end of the site had grass left longer for nature purposes. Facilities were excellent. A great, clean toilet block and a lovely dog walk. Our only niggle was the closure of the whole toilet block from 10.15 to 12 noon which was a bit of an inconvenience. The site is very peacefully situated which was lovely although it was not great for motorhomers who don't like to take their vehicles off site as it was some distance from the beaches and nearest town. This did not bother us as we have visited Anglesey many times before but it might be of a concern for some. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much and would return to this site.

Lovely site but low on Facilities

We recently spent 5 great days at the site, and it is very clean and exceptionally quiet with really lovely staff(though not many on duty), but I also must add that we have a motorhome and use a toad car for our trips away from site, and the access & placement of the site is very good for travelling around anglesey and further afield, so no issues there, but in co with the previous reviews written were the lack of rubbish bins at the service points, and as mentioned the long drag for the chemi toilet waste disposal with a heavy cassette. Most of the club sites that we have visited over the years have adequate placings for these facilities in a well balanced way to ensure that campers dont have to walk too far from their pitches. One other small thing was that the serviced pitch we used was not at all level, and the amount of levelling required left us with inadequate rear steady support due to the extra height required on our ramps to level the motorhome with approx 10 inches needed to chock the steadies of which we did not have sufficient support, so this again has not been a problem at other sites experienced, but obviously a lesson to be learned for this one Whilst the wifi was non existent, that was not a particular problem for us, but there was a very poor 4G and zero 5G signal that we needed for our Tv/andriod system, though the digital signal was passable, in some areas of beauty you have to expect this not to be the best, but things will improve over time. Last year we stayed at Hafan Y Mor near Pwllheli a Haven holiday site(no membership required), and they provided much better facilites/fully serviced piches with additional free family type ammeneties, shops, beaches, bars & entertainment/shows and much more value for money, so come on Club , please sort this out as membership plus the cost of sites are pricing you well above the competition, and we have now booked for Haven for next years wales trip but our next 2023 trip is east coast of scotland in a couple of months, and hopefully it will be to your usual high standard

Peaceful

We have just returned from 3 beautiful days at Penrhos. The site is ideally located for exploring Anglesey. The facilities were spotless and you can tell that the staff have been working really hard on the site this season as it was looking lovely.

Great!! Location!! Facilities!! Site Mnagers!! Pitch!!

There is not much I can say except to endorse all the positive reviews. I have no niggles about the site or staff. The facilities are, in my opinion, the benchmark for all other site improvements. We'll be back!

Great site with niggles

This was our second Easter visit and probably not our last. However, many great positives are slightly spoilt by small negatives. Great location, excellent toilet block and on the whole good wardens. However, why can’t we have a set of bins at the top service point, there all on wheels so not like it would be that hard to keep one of each at the top. This is the only clubsite I’ve ever been on that does this. Not like it’s short on Wardens, four on site, but as they’re aren’t bins at the service points we never saw any apart from one brief passing of the ride on mower, not that he actually mowed very much. C’mon guys n girls, show a little more willing please. Toilet emptying is another negative, again nothing further up the site, meaning it’s a long walk with a heavy cassette.

Very peaceful and pleasant 3 night stay

We used this site as a base for exploring Anglesey and found it to be very pleasant. The facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean. The dog walk is one of the best I've ever seen... more like a secure field with sections of long grass and nice wide mowed path around so you can make it into a proper walk. My assistance dog absolutely loved it! For days out, we recommend Beaumaris, with its castle, pier and seafront. Midland Tapas Restaurant is fab. Holyhead has a nice prom and country park but the town centre is sadly neglected. Menai Bridge is lovely and Dylan's is good for a meal out. Parking a motorhome there was tricky. We used Maes Parcio Waun and took two spaces. Penrhyn Castle and Gardens is beautiful. All these places were mostly wheelchair accessible, though my arms and shoulders ache from all the hills. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday here and found the staff to be pleasant and helpful.
