Good for families

No WiFi, no walking, noisy, smelly

It's a club site so the facilities are to the usual standard, if lacking the little touches that you find at some sites. The WiFi is atrocious. ..... and it was supposed to be working ..... well below the description of "bronze standard" in the handbook. TV reception was little better (80 channels but not the main BBC and commercial ones - lots of shopping and adults). The dog walk, although very nice, is right next to the road (along which people seem to drive like nutters) and is unfenced, so despite the advice, the dogs didn't get off the lead here. Walking from the site seemed to require lengthy stretches on local roads (see previous comment about driving habits)........so really wasn't an option. At times there was quite a bit of road noise and at other times (including during the small hours) there was a fair bit of air traffic at low altitude ...... I'm guessing the site is situated on the approach to Exeter airrport. The top end of the site and the walk to the pub seemed to enjoy the benefit of the aroma from the pub's sewage treatment system.

Goodness, I guess you won’t be returning!

To be fair, most of the items you mention are beyond the club's control and, yes, Exeter international airport isn’t far away. You can see it on a map.

Gosh,

You sound fun. I returned from this site on 24th July and thought it was fine.

I got all my usual TV channels including BBC and ITV in HD. Perhaps you need to get an app showing which way to point your ariel.

I found the site very quiet and peaceful. I read the reviews before booking so I knew it was on the flight path for Exeter Airport so when I got there it did not come as a surprise.

I walked to the pub too and didn't smell anything. A nice site in good location.

Enjoy, Husky.

We heard no planes nor whiffed any smells when we visited. At that time the pub (decent car park) did good food.

Wi-fi? I expect nothing and it often lives up to my expectations on many sites.

Having just returned from this site I can confirm - there is regular aircraft noise everyday/night, although it wasn’t bad enough to spoil out stay. There is a very strong smell of sewerage when you pass the site by road and near the pub, but there was no smell on our pitch which was near the site office, so it may well be very smelly on the higher pitches nearer the pub...?

We very much enjoyed our stay and will be returning soon.

Tinwheeler - the site is on a flight path and there is definately a smell issue close to some pitches.

I know it’s on a flight path. I thought that was obvious from looking at a map. I’ve not experienced any smell there but no way am I disputing any of these issues exist.

In your previous post you said “We heard no planes nor whiffed any smells”

It’s important to be accurate with your words here hence why I picked up on them. Impossible to not hear planes when it’s on a flight path... your sarcasm isn’t necessary either!
