Snakes - no warning

Absolutely fabulous site and staff. BUT due to a childhood experience my other half has a severe fear of snakes. There are signs in reception warning of adders and regular sightings reported on nature board. There ought to be a warning in the handbook and online about this, you should not need to arrive before finding out.

I doubt that they are likely to be a problem in October though. I understand that if somebody has a fear of snakes that could be worrying but there are many sites that are likely to have adders nearby.

The majority of snakes, including adders, are more frightened of us and will generally try to get away and hide.  It is only when humans/dogs interfere with them that they strike.  As ET states it is highly unlikely that adders are still active.  Where do these warnings end, rats, mice, lizards etc.
