Great site

Not our first visit to this site and will not be our last, great site in a great location. Friendly and helpful wardens. Excellent facility's.........clean....as is the site generally. The only question i ask is why the change for part of the the dog field to now be allocated to TENT'S ....I thought this was a CARAVAN CLUB SITE. Will be interested how this plays out next year when i return for our next trip to this site.

Good night halt, before ferry departure

Good night halt before ferry departure, but if on a late ferry awkward early departure from the site may need to book an extra night on site. Makes it a bit expensive.

Lovely site

Just spent the last week of the season at Rooksbury one of our favourite sites. Even though site was full only one shower block was open( could not understand this) queues every morning. Don't think we will be going to this site so much now. That they have cut the dog walk to about a third of what it was for what TENTS. This is the CC site. People are now driving their cars to the grass leading to the dog walk which was making area muddy and slippery. In our oppinion and about 80% of people we were talking to . Not a good move by the Caravan Club.

Nice site

Stayed here for 4 nights in October, this site is in a lovely setting. Close to a small village with nice shops. There are lovely walks straight from the site in the local woods and these can be reached via a gate in the campsite. Facilities were clean as we would expect. We would happily stay there again and indeed hope to do so.

Perfect for returners to caravanning

Easy to find and good access. Road into the site easy to manage. Staff in reception very helpful. Pitch level and hard standing. Easy to set up. Good facilities. Very clean. Great toilet block with individual showers and washing facilities. Well looked after site. Would certainly return.

Rookesbury Regulars

With family nearby, we visit most October half terms. We do love the site and Wardens are always great. I know I said last year that the toilet block was a bit 'tired' and that is still the case - one loo or another of the four available in the Men's area was blocked on 3 days of the 6 we were there. Not the Wardens' fault - cleaning is excellent. Did mention the matter to Wardens. My wife reports no such problems in the Ladies! Safety grips in some showers are rusty, though showers work well despite queues for use. With all 85 hardstandings occupied over the weekend, perhaps both toilet blocks should be open? It wasn't great in the one at rush hours! Could do with a food waste bin in the washing-up area. Notice tents are welcome now; don't want to be there when they are in use (unlikely in October) so won't be visiting in the summer!

Great Site

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this site , it was out first time here. Beautiful location and very clean and tidy. A couple of things we would mention, we found the time the toilet block closed for cleaning early. We stayed during half term and during a rally and there was only one toilet block open, it wasn't enough to cope with everyone, people were having to queue for a morning shower. Also when we left with our caravan at 11.30am we met 2 caravans arriving one behind the other which made a difficult manoeuvre for us on the narrow entrance road. Having said this we would definitely visit this site again and would like to thank the Wardens for all their hard work.

Rookesbury again

We regularly stay at Rookesbury site as our children live nearby. Its always clean, quiet and beautiful. No change there then!  Was a bit perturbed to find the dog walk halved and it got a bit hectic with dogs as it was half term and the site was very busy. Even more perturbed to see the other half is for tents? This has always been a members only site? And in our bitter experience its always the tented community that are noisiest & most disruptive! Will they be allowed fires and coal bbqs as this what they normally do?  And, we only had 1 toilet block open - you had to queue in the morning for a shower - how will it cope with more campers? Please think before you turn us into "the caravan & camping club" We love your sites, your high standards and the peace.

Wishing John, Sue and the team of Wardens

Just returned from Rookesbury, for the last outing of 2015. To hear that John & Sue Dick (Head Wardens) moving on to the "Battle Normanhurst Court" in 2016 and some "Asst Wardens" going to Bognor as well in 2016. Although we said our goodbye's today, like to have it mentioned that John & Sue have done the Caravan Club well, always helpful and being there in the time of need.  We wish the whole team, the best in 2016, and we will be visiting ourselves again to Battle in 2016. Good Luck, Kevin & Elaine Freemantle

Great stay, good for families, tight access road

We were very impressed with the site and would happily go back. We have 3 children and the playground and open areas for scooting/cycling were ideal. The welcome from the wardens was second to none. We also had mobile signal problems, but it was a small price to pay given the position and views from the site, although a warning would be useful in the site summary. The exit road would be fine if arrivals actually adhere to the 12:00 arrival time. We met an outfit arriving just before 12:00 which caused an awkward manoeuvre on the access road. Otherwise great site and recommended.
