A superb site in every way
A simply wonderful site if you’re looking for rural, peaceful, walking, cycling, running and visiting coast and mountain.
Could hear a pin drop night and day- red kite and owls and lovely lanes surrounding the site. No traffic noise.
Poor tv reception and poor club Wi-Fi, but ok 4G on O2.
We had a wonderfully restorative week here

Lovely little gem!
The site is perfect and we will go back, unfortunately I was unwell so we couldn’t maximise our stay but the wardens were really helpful. The facilities were warm and clean! The different levels allowed everyone to have a nice view. Site really well kept and looked after with care.

Lovely site, very helpful team. Facilities were spotless, and closed at a sensible time for a change.
Pitches on two tiers, giving somewhat of a view.
As others have said, its miles from anywhere, so you need to use your van or car to visit places. Howevrr, if you are looking for peace and quiet, then this is the place to be. I was working remotely, so ideal for me.
I loved that there were lots of Red Kites on the campsite, and a camper was feeding them, which was quite a show. Made my visit.
New Quay is neaby, and id recommend Church Road carpark ... you can even overnight in this carpark, but watch that hill coming back, its steep.

The wardens go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as comfortable and easy as it can be. A perfect site for access to the coast or inland. We had three nights, and it was so relaxing and restorative. If you like peace and quiet, this site gives it to you. Thank you.

Well run site great wardens
We just had a nice stay at Shawsmead . We have stayed a few times before and find the site to be clean and tidy . The wardens are very helpful , polite and work hard to make your stay an enjoyable one. The site is in the perfect place for easy access to the coastline with so many things to do . Though we don’t have a dog here is a dog walk though small , “is ideal for dog business”,
We had a lovely meal at the Llainina Arms just 10 minutes away, we really enjoyed it .
Fantastic caring staff
During our stay with our caravan in June, my husband became very unwell with an infection. The two relief staff members Fiona and Martin, were very kind and helpful to us. Martin helped with us having to leave the caravan behind on site until it could be delivered back to our home by green flag mayday (not so good on service, no communication leading to extra stress).
Fantastic clean facilities, and extremely hot water for washing up.

Lovely Quiet Site
Spent two nights here in June 2023. It is a well kept site and easy to find. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The pitches are well positioned and you have different options - shade, sunny etc. Facilities very clean and well maintained.
The only improvement would be a food van or shop as there isn't much around locally to do. We are in a motorhome so we would have to take the van out if we wanted to find somewhere to eat so something onsite or that came to the site would be welcomed.
We had two dogs and walked them mainly around the site as the site is surrounded by country roads with no footpath so have to take care. That said, if you turn right and walk less than 5 mins up the lane, you can follow a public bridleway for a nice walk.
A warm and sheltered haven close to a beautiful coastline
A very quiet and sheltered campsite away from the coastal winds, The site is so well kept and Jo and keith are so friendly and helpful. The best wardens I’ve ever met as they seem to spend all day making sure everyone is happy. They have built a dog walk on site now too.
Just a 10 minute drive to Aberaeron which is a lovely little harbour town full of places to eat. The coastline and towns and villages are a stunning discovery in this part of beautiful wales. Well worth a visit.
