Fantastic time away

Amazing few days away with family , made even more spectacular by waking to the sound of Red Kites circling above . Very friendly , helpful wardens.

A week in May

First time visit which will not be our last. The site itself is clean and tidy with very welcoming and helpful wardens. TV reception turned out to be poor, even with a satellite dish, but apparently only on pitch number 6. The forest walks next door are perfect for both dogs and their human assistants. A little disappointed with the lack of dog friendly places to visit, especially coffee and cake establishments, however the forest café just outside the gates does cater for we dog owners. The site shop has useful items for sale and, for the bigger shop, supermarkets are only 6 miles away in Stamford.

Lovely site. We'll be back!

Stayed here recently for 5 nights. Quiet, clean, well kept site. Pitches spacious. Choice of hardstanding or grass. Plenty of waymarked trails in woods direct from the site. Great for walking dogs and cycling. Shop on site was useful for basics and sold delicious ice cream. Wardens helpful and friendly. Within easy drive of the historic town of Stamford. Overall, a lovely site and a very enjoyable holiday.

Perfect weekend at a perfect site!

Well, what can I say other than fantastic. As a family with children we were concerned with the lack of facilities (play area on site). We needn't have been. From arriving at the site to a lovely reception to leaving everything was just..... perfect! The children loved the woods and the walks especially the tree house! We all can't wait to return, thank you caravan club, a truly wonderful site

First Class as Always

As always Top Lodge, now known as Stamford Caravan Park is a first class site. The only isues I could possibly find are that pitches could be a little flatter and the site desperately requires TV communication points on the power posts. TV reception at this site is very poor. All said and done however everything else is fantastic. Clean, professionally run and great walks around the area. Enjoy!!!

Love this site.

This was our second visit to this site, over the Week up to and over Easter. This is a great basic site in a great location. The woods are ideal for walking the dog, and a nice chippy van friday night. Wardens were very friendly and helpfull, found room for us to extend our stay over the Easter weekend which was greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Howarth's Easter break

We returned to the Stamford (Top Lodge) site once again this year to meet with family. Once again we were met by the friendly warden. Admittedly there were a couple of challenges for him as we presented a free night voucher plus a money off voucher, but he passed his customer service test (as usual ) with flying colours and also advised us how we could alter our bookings in person-which I never knew you could do. So all booked in, had a chuckle at my brother in laws expense when we heard of his manoeuvring prowess, or not as the case was!  Once again Stamford provided us with the perfect, peaceful getaway that we all needed and gave us much needed family downtime. The site was again spotless and well maintained. Okay there is no toiler/shower block but we do have a van with decent equipment so we never see this as an issue. The site is well located near to Stamford with shops, supermarkets, pubs, tea shops and restaurants. There's so much to choose from I don't think we've even scratched the surface of what is there. The bonus of this site is the RSPB centre and lovely woods next door. There's a tea shop that also serves local delicious ice cream as well as great, well sign posted walks through the woods (which are all dog friendly) and activities in holidays and weekends. This is a great site for families, is well managed by the wardens and well worth a visit. See you all again soon!

Nice

Been here a few times now as it is only 20 miles away from home but feels like your  in the middle of nowhere.Lots of nice walks but beware of bikes going very fast on the paths.Expensive site for what it is there is no toilet block which we knew but it could easily be installed if only the Caravan club could be bothered.Water/toilet in nearby visitor centre, just needs extending sewage pipes, come on spend some of our money on facilities! Very peaceful, well kept and the wardens are not military in there running of the site.

OUR FIRST VISIT

Arrived on site 1.45 reception closed notice on door find a pitch and come back 4.00pm we had not site plan! we didn't know where anything was and didn't know you could pitch either way, as we later found out but this to late as we had set up. having 2 dogs ourselves we always thought you had to have them on leads all the time on site, but it didn't seem to apply here, lovely walks around the site as long as you remember cyclist have the right of way all the time and when you move for them they don't have to say thank you .

Stamford

A wonderful site with a very well stocked shop and excellent helpful wardens. Plenty to do in and around the site. One of our favorite sites.
