Agree with reviews about dated toilets but they are still serviceable even if they are not up there with the best. Site is lovely and well kept and it's nobodys fault about flood risk.Wardens are,unfortunately,moulded by the CC.No humour here!With one or two exceptions,they are miserable and not friendly.C'mon,lighten up a bit!This is a general characteristic of the CC-no attempt ever to create a fun and friendly atmosphere.Oh,and rules are rules--you shall not be allowed on site before 12 even if the site is quiet and you have mis-timed your journey time.You WILL wait like a naughty child outside until THEY say its ok to enter.In their defence its in the handbook but a little flexibility --please. The bells are a damn nuisance and totally tune-less.Do they train newbies on them?But the big question is- -WHY did they build the Abbey so close to the caravan site? If it was further away the bell bashers could ring the bells their hearts content without bothering anyone.Anyway,we love staying here and the proximity to the town and the 16 ( i think ) pubs is unique.I look forward to next years visits.

Lovely site, great location for town

This is the second time we have stayed at the site and we do like it a lot, it has a great location really close to town and as dog owners, love the Abbey fields right next to the park. There are a couple of things I would like to point out though - the toilet block is in some need of updating and repair: none of the toilets flush properly and some of the showers don't get hot enough. You also need to be alert for the wardens zooming around the site on massive lawn mowers as if it was a race track, blatantly ignoring the 5 m/h speed limit - it clearly doesn't apply to the lawn mowers! People also need to be aware of the bells of the abbey which do go on throughout the night (every 15 min) so light sleepers might be disturbed. One evening we were there, they were rung non-stop for 2 hours, not sure if there was an event or special occasion. I would definitely visit the site again but I do hope the shower block is seen to as it does let the site down.

Excellent amazing location requires a little tlc

We stayed at Tewkesbury for 2 nights over the Mop Fair weekend on our back from touring the South West. The location is brilliant easy to find and no hassle to work in to town even with the fair on. The wardens very kindly rang when they realised that we had a large motorhome and the diversion due to the fair would not be adequate they gave great directions. The shower/toilet facilities are very clean but are in need of updating and perhaps need a few more. It was off putting that the block near us closed from 0930-1130 for cleaning there is another block but this does seem a bit early. The wardens were very helpful and clearly took pride in the site which was great. We always travel with ear plugs so the abbey chiming didn't bother us. There was excessive noise on the saturday night early sunday morning behind where we pitched but all in all a lovely stay and we will be back.

Behind the times

Position of site exellent, outdated site and staff. Insist on making you Wait to book in if early, rules gone crazy. Basically unhappy staff. Clean toilets at the most busy times, make you have electric, when not required

Worry not

Having booked for two nights enroute home, we then read the reviews (I know, wrong way round) and was highly concerned as to what we were going to find, shabby facilities, high levels of noise, and unbelievably, wardens that didn't come up to spec. We needn't have worried, yes the facilities are a little tired and in need of updating and increasing, but they are up to the usual standard of cleanliness that we expect of club sites, no undue noise, albeit the Abbey clock does chime all through the night, and as for the wardens, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer bunch. One question that I didn't get answered and was a little off putting, why do we need to be securely locked in overnight. Would we return, a definite 'yes'

Great stay

We stayed here couple of nights our second visit it's clean wardens are very helpful and friendly and do there best .yes the facilities could do with a refurb but I have seen worse .dont let this put you off staying here its location is great for all sights .

staying at tewkesbury

had a very pleasant stay there this week site well maintained wardens friendly and helpful on seeing photographs of the site I thought it looked as if caravans too close together but not so when pitched, quite well spaced. good site great for exploring the area.

lovely site

Lovely location and a really short walk into tewkesbury town centre. I agree with everyone else that the toliet blocks are not on par with other cc sites. Showers were lovely and hot tho. Wardens were lovely and very helpful. Will definitely return again

Could be a flagship site

The setting of this site could not be improved, it is perfect, everything is just a short walk away. Unfortunately the facilities do not come up to CC standards. This site is in desperate need of an upgrade, it's shower blocks are antiquated and poorly heated. With most sites offering the choice of hardstandings, why on earth hasn't this one been brought up to date? I think it's time someone took notice of the reviews from members, we only criticise constructively in order to help the club improve. This site could be great, at the moment it isn't. The best thing about this site, is the entrance and this year won best floral display site 2015.

A shame - can do MUCH better!

The wardens have a most difficult task here... the CC need to spend from bulging cash reserves at this site.... IF the site belongs to us (?) The facilities in both blocks are dreadful and blocks should be demolished for new ones. The ground conditions are wet/soggy and easily wrecked by users, some drive over wet areas regardless of consequences. The installation of gravel pitches or turf reinforcement is urgently needed for this site. Some better drained grass areas could be left for those who wish to pitch on grass.... Come on CC... do the right thing for your members,wardens, and guests, we ARE paying enough ! Enjoy (or not)! as may be the case.
