Pros and Cons

We were met on arrival by lovely wardens and found the site very easy to access from the M5 either from north or south, fantastic location a short stroll from Tewksbury centre and the Abbey, with a large supermarket nearby with a fuel station. The site is an absolute credit to the hard working wardens, facilities were spotless and we found the safety measures worked well, had to wait a couple of times but in these strange days that's understandable. The floral decorations around the site are beautiful. Some nice walking from the site, we did the Battle Walk which is well signposted and also the Ham walk, both highly recommended. For us the cons were the pitches, as others have said they seemed to be predominately grass and very tight, so much so that we returned after a walk and found that the motorhomer on the next pitch had thought it ok to wind his canopy out fully and then put his awning on the end of that too, unbelievably I couldn't open my drivers side door without scraping against his awning, never had that in all our years of caravaning, after having a word he reluctantly wound his canopy in and moved his awning to an acceptable distance, needless to say he wasn't very pleased with us and it made for an uncomfortable couple of days until we travelled on to our next destination. Unfortunately our Tv reception was non existent on our pitch with no bollard plug in option and phone signal very poor. Have to say that with more hard standing and better spaced pitches this would probably be one of our favourite sites on the system. Next time we will book well in advance and go for a service pitch. They were huge, as were the hard standing pitches.
