Disappointed with this site - friendly but less informative welcome on arrival having to ask information. Noise from neighbouring houses and building works. Not convinced with Covid safety in facilities, no management of numbers (band system) so crowded and had to leave; all cubicles open so not sure this complies with social distancing. Not on par with club site with regards Covid safety
Good for short stay
I stayed with motorhome and dog for 3 nights. I asked where the dog walk was and was told I was welcome to use the field where the tents are. I think not. Dogs were being walked inside the site to do their business. The road outside is not suitable for walking. Please note - there is no on site dog walk!
With a motorhome be prepared to move with it to attractions, the site is on a country road.
The motorhome service area is clean and hygienic, however you can drive into it but have to come out the same way, ie reverse or 3+ point turn.
Wi-fi is very sporadic and tv reception is not great.
Beautiful scenery and well kept site, friendly staff. However I personally would not return due to the dog walking problems.
Stay ruined
we stayed sep15 for 3 nights.there are great views from lower end of site.facilities are good and there is a good restaurant on site with great service from friendly staff.our stay was ruined on the friday evening though by noisy inconsiderate campers all congregating together and making lots of noise laughing and shouting until at least 2.30 a.m.the management need to address this or decent people who uphold the accepted quiet time will stay away

Very clean site, excellent facilities, but no onsite fishing as advertised
This is a very clean site with excellent facilities.
But:
Its in the middle of nowhere.
No suitable dog walking area.
The only reason I booked was for the advertised fishing, which is a mile and a half away, not even close to the site, NO use what so ever when your in a MOTORHOME.
There is nothing to do nearby and the roads are far to dangerous to walk along, NO paths.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Perfect place for staying
Went to stay at The Woods Caravan park for one night ended up staying three, site very tidy well maintained there was quit a few staying for time of year but toilets were immaculate all staff we met very friendly and helpful so. So could not fault if at all did not try restaurant so can’t comment on it but maybe next time because we are sure to be back soon
A disappointing stay (camper van)
beautiful location, well laid out park, exceptional toilet and shower facilities, However,
No dog walking area to speak of, area pointed out to me could hardly be described as a dog walking area.
booked for 2 nights, 29th and 30th December, on the second night we just wanted a drink but were told all the seats were reserved for people eating. When we elected to stand at the bar and I ordered my drink (Guinness) I was told they had run out and would not get any until after new year. My night was then at an end.
If you advertise a bar do not treat it as a restaurant with a licence, only for diners
Get organised with your stock, especially if you are the only venue in a remote location

Exellent Site with plenty to do in the area
We stayed at The Woods towards the end of September and the site was very busy. An excellent site within an easy drive of many attractions such as the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and the Kelpies. The site is very well maintained and the facilities are spotless. Views from the lower part of the site are exceptional. The Woodsman Restaurant at the entrance to the site is well worth a visit, the menu is comprehensive and the staff very pleasant.
Good site
Nice site with good views and convenient location.
main toilet block is very well looed after and always clean. However, the toilet cubicles in the Men's are very dark due to the (poor) design of the lighting. I suggest that additional lighting should be fitted above the cubicles.
TV in block is an interesting idea but not really needed!

Nice views
We have used this site for good walking in the Ochills and the excellent cycle path network around Clackmannanshire.
The only negative is that the toilets are requiring just a little talc.
Soap trays and hooks missing in the showers, and the push button showers are a real pain.
Very busy site with great restaurant on site
We stayed at the Woods in the busy part of summer so found it way too busy for us - site was full. Luckily we managed to get a pitch at the bottom of the site near the lodges, so had beautiful views of hills, but we did not realise they had a huge camping field right behind us with no hedge and so when that got full of families, it became too noisy as we are a couple with no kids who like things reasonably quiet. We would not have booked had we know it had a large campsite for this reason as we know they are popular with large families/groups of friends.
The staff were very friendly and the restaurant on site served fabulous food - really top notch stuff and staff were lovely in there too.
I was surprised that everyone found the toilets immaculate though as when we were there they not good at all. I think with there being a lot of campers, the showers unfortunately were full of grass and mud as were the floors. 3 of the toilets had broken flush things, 1 broken seat and one didnt flush at all. Perhaps we were just unlucky as I think they did get cleaned regularly but in the mornings they were muddier than we are used to with there being campers on site.
This site would suit families as the kids seemed to all have a ball in the play area, but too hectic for us.
