Very enjoyable stay

We had 3 nights at The Woods on our way back south from Bunree and would highly recommend it. It is a really well kept and quiet site, our pitch had beautiful views of the hills to the north. There is plenty to do in the area, we went to the William Wallace monument, fab views! Also the Bannockburn battle museum is well worth a visit. Stirling is quite close and is a lovely city to wander around with its castle and nice cafe's and shops. We had a meal in the Woodsman Restaurant on our last night and I can honestly say it was really good. The service was very friendly, quick and the food was spot on, not badly priced either. Sadly part of the reception had suffered fire damage the day before but by the time we left they had sorted out a temporary portacabin, generators and you would hardly know there had been a problem, brilliant and professional staff. We would certainly go back on our next northern adventure.

Nice tidy well kept ite

We stayed 7 nights in June and I must say that the reception we received was excellent. The site was very clean, tidy, well maintained. Toilet block, although small for the size of site was (3 toilets, 3 showers) very well kept. Cleaning times for the toilets were very irregular, one morning 10.15 am then 10.30 am then 10.05 am, totally unreliable. There were no regular cleaning times. The showers would have benefitted with a handle to steady yourself as the tray you stood on became very slippy with soap. We were advised that the site was one way and 5 mph, but this was exceeded on numerous occasions, mainly by the site staff. All the time we were there I was unable to use the Wi-Fi as my security systems would not permit me to connect. Never had this problem with the CC wi-fi. Despite this a good stay.

Lovely gem of a site.

Just returned from a long weekend at this site (2nd visit this year). All pitches are large with plenty of room for awning and car. Toilet blocks are among the best I have encountered, spotlessly clean and loads of hot water. Nice area for walking the dog on site with further walks direct from the site also without the need to use the car. Wardens are amongst the friendliest we have come across with always making time for a chat and assist you if required. Site is kept very tidy and when we were there the reception was undergoing refurbishment. Only advice I would give is bring rock pegs for your awning as hardstanding was about the hardest I have encountered but we'll worth the effort to sit in the awning and enjoy the lovely scenery with a cool glass of wine. Perfect. Doug & Jenny

I'll Be Back!

Lovely site with spacious pitches, great walks and absolutely lovely shower blocks. We stayed here for a week and although we enjoyed all of those things the best thing about the site for us was the staff. We had real problems with the electrics in our van and the help we received from Jerry and Francis was wonderful. It meant we were able to go ahead and enjoy our holiday in this lovely quiet spot overlooking the Ochil Hills. We'll definitely be returning to this site.

Good base for lots of attractions

Stayed here for three nights at the start of a tour of the Highlands, and again for one night during the return trip, March and April 2017. This is a really good AS, friendly staff, nice spacious pitches, good views, and the main toilet/shower block is one of the best appointed we've ever used in the UK. There's a pub/restaurant by the site entrance which does excellent meals. There's a frequent bus service to Alloa and Stirling about 10-15minutes walk away, ask at reception for directions over a traffic free walk route to the stop. Stirling is well worth a day, and slightly further afield are other must-see places: -The Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, and the Bo'ness and Kennel Railway. We'll probably use this site again on further Scottish explorations

Fabulous site

Home today from another fantastic stay at The Woods, sixth time this year.  Views are amazing and been on a few of the many hill walks. Every pitch spaceous and well laid out. Toilet blocks clean and modern. Great dog walk on site, ideal for our two big dogs. Plenty of walks, shops, etc close by.  Wardens friendly and welcoming. Restaurant onsite is a huge bonus, great food and staff. Can't wait for next year for plenty more visits.

Beautiful scenery

We have used this site twice now as a stop over whilst going from the midlands to holiday in the Cairngorms. On the second occasion we stayed two nights so we could do a little exploring of the local area and visit Stirling Castle. Its a pleasant site with stunning views. There is a restaurant just next to the site which we have used and enjoyed both times. Its worth making a reservation, especially at the weekends.
