Autumnal stay

This has been our third October stay at Troutbeck and we always enjoy it. Facilities are spacious and spotless, wardens very welcoming and helpful. This is Cumbria so expect rain and come prepared. Depending on your pitch, there are some glorious views to be had. There is some noise from the activity centre next door, the worst being the go-karts- this hasn't troubled us too much, perhaps because we are always there off season and out of school holidays. Keswick nearby has plenty on offer, places to eat [ dog friendly ] - can thoroughly recommend the Square Orange for pizza and tapas, plus Booths supermarket is excellent. We are walkers and the choice is endless. My only slight niggle is the introduction of the pods, open to non-members. I hope this isn't going to be a growing phenomenon as I think it detracts from the charm of a site - but this is just my personal opinion.
