Interesting site
We stayed here when there was no race on so the site was peaceful with plenty of pitches to choose from. The site is immaculate. Be warned that if you choose a racecourse side pitch you are likely to get wet -from the sprinklers! We found this quite amusing (and we’re woken at 6 am by the regular swish of water hitting the van) but it might have been more annoying for others. I’m not sure how things would be if it had been raining a lot. Facilities are spotless and fine. Wardens are lovely! A brilliant example of calm whilst answering daft questions. It’s an easy walk into Uttoxeter and we can receive Waitrose and the White Hart. National Trust Shugborough and the National Memorial Arboretum are about half an hours drive away.
My only issue is probably with the racecourse operator. Signs to the racecourse and the entrance to use we’re clear when we arrived but once on the racecourse it wasn’t clear which fork in the road to take. It wouldn’t take much to sort this out. More worrying was the state of affairs when the racecourse operator locked all three entrance gates for several days and put a security guard on the middle gate. There were no signs telling you to use this gate and you would have driven past it to get to the one signposted for the caravan site. I’m not sure what people did then! Again it wouldn’t have taken a great deal of effort to put a sign up!
