Absolutely faultless!

Stayed here last week for first time after recommendation from 2 different friends. What a wonderful site! The most welcoming, friendly and caring wardens who deserve an award for the cleanest, most looked after Club site I’ve ever stayed on. The toilets, showers and washing up rooms are absolutely spotless. The pitches are extra big - wish all sites had this space on them. The hedges, flowers and grass are kept beautifully and what a lovely touch for children to have the fairy lights in the garden at the back of the shower block. You can walk out of the site straight onto the fascinating white water park,Tees barrage and walk or cycle for miles along the river. Although the surrounding area is very industrial, with lots of refineries, power stations etc, this has created wonderful wildlife areas. Seal Sands is 30 mins away and to see dozens of them lounging around on the river bank and swimming in the river is wonderful. We also spotted a spoonbill, Marsh harriers and lots of waders too. You can also drive to the coast and enjoy long beach walks. A retail park is nearby for shops and entertainment so this site has everything on its doorstep yet still manages to be a lovely, peaceful well laid out site. Will definitely be returning!

Great Little Site

First time we have visited this site and found it completely by accident as wanted something near to us at short notice. The site is incredibly easy to get to and is surrounded by really lovely walks / cycle paths. There is a great pub within walking distance which is dog friendly and plenty of supermarkets/shops nearby. We were booked on a service pitch but to be honest, all the pitches were a very generous size. Everything was always clean and tidy (the toilets/showerblock were exceptional) and the staff were, as always, friendly and helpful. A magical element of the site are all the lights and decorations which we discovered on an evening walk with the dogs - children (and adults) will absolutely love these. The only negative (and this is no fault of the site and may not bother some people) is you could not access TV or radio during our stay as a nearby mast had recently met with an accident. We weren't informed about this when booking in and wasted £12 purchasing a week's worth of internet which we then couldn't use on our TV - it would have been useful to have been informed about this when booking in to save us this bit of cash! We were glad we had plenty of games to play which had been stored in the caravan for some time and it was actually quite nice to sit in the awning, drinking wine, munching snacks and beating hubby at ludo and dominoes :) He did whop me at draughts however :(

Lovely site but plan bike rides with care.

This is an excellent site, easy to find and with immediate access onto cycle paths. The staff and facilities were superb and I loved the magical fairy lights behind the toilet block-such a thoughtful touch. I cannot fault the site itself and would highly recommend. However, as cyclists, we did find that, once we were a few miles away from the site, the paths were often poorly maintained and sometimes covered in broken glass or even fenced off completely. We found that by cycling to nearby Thornaby Station, we could take the train beyond the rougher paths and pick up some glorious routes such as Redcar to Saltburn. But the short ride recommended on the site's website is lovely although, at the time of writing, the transporter bridge is closed so you have to turn round again from there! But well worth seeing anyway.

Excellent Site

We have stayed at this site many times as we have family in the area. It never fails to impress us how immaculate the toilet and shower facilities are on this site and how pleasant the landscaping etc is around the site. It is a great site for families as it is within walking distance to two retail parks. Teeside Park has a good range of shops, restaurants and a cinema. Portrack Retail Park has an Asda Superstore , the Range but also a Soft Play, Click and Climb and Jump 360. Saltburn Beach is about 30 mins drive away, where there are facilities for surfing lessons and you can hire Beach Huts for the day (£40-50).Hartlepool Historic Quay is well worth a visit. There are several links to James Cook in the area....Preston Park and Stewart’s Park....both are lovely Park areas. Wynnard Country Park is also close by with a disused railway track for walking and a nice play area for children. York is about an hour’s drive away. Roseberry Topping is a good place for walkers....you are close to North Yorkshire and all it’s beauty.Newcastle, South Shields are all within reach by car 45-60 minute journey. Plenty to see and do. Well worth a visit.

Great stay

This site is excellent. Peaceful, clean and well maintained. This is a site we visit regularly and it never disappoints. The only problem we found, on this visit, was the checking in. We fully understand the Covid procedure regarding not being able to get on site until 1pm at the earliest. When we arrived at around 12.45pm we were asked to park opposite the site in car park designed like a snake. We thought that if everyone parked up, in a queue, this would mean that the first in the queue would be booked in first, and so on so forth. Unfortunately this did not happen. When the site opened at 1pm for arrivals, we presumed that we would be called, in order of parking, and booked in, but this did not happen. Due to the fact that no one from the site came across to let us know that we could drive round and book in, we, and other caravaners, we were left there whilst new, and later arrivals, were allowed to just drive up and book in, before us that were waiting, which we found rather annoying. This, however, doesn’t change our opinion regarding the excellent site, but hopefully this booking in system could be better organised, if the Covid pandemic sadly continues.

As good as ever

Been many times as family live in area. The site is a pleasant flat site and very typical of clubs sites. Good facilities and easy to find. There is some road noise from A19 but nothing to worry us. There are Asda and Morrisons supermarkets with fuel close by plus a large shopping centre so good for supplies. The area is worth visiting although less touristy than many.

First of many......

We live fairly local but have never visited this site before..when going local had always chosen one a bit closer to home but right next to A1. However this time we decided to book White Water....wish we had visited before. It is definitely a hidden gem and we had no problem with any noise from the A66 or A19...once you’re there you could be anywhere. We arrived with our ‘old’ caravan and were due to leave the day we picked up our new caravan. However, we loved the site that much..we cancelled our other booking and extended our stay here instead. All the wardens were amazing and helpful and we were even allowed to come back to the same pitch after picking up our new caravan. Also our first time on a serviced pitch...brilliant..the way forward...massive pitches and lovely neighbours on pitch number 16 👍😃. We have never walked so much while being away.....lovely walks along the river which even at the weekend was not too busy. Highly recommend the Beefeater...make sure you sign up for their offers though 😉. Facilities spotless...only spoilt by people thinking it’s okay to leave kitchen and toilets in a less than desirable state...why!! Plenty of local walks and cycle rides and if you need to venture to a supermarket Asda is literally less than a 5 minute walk. This is a wonderful site and is definitely worth a visit or two. We are back there in 2 weeks, for a long weekend, and have already booked for June next year. The noise is minimal...in fact we have been to a remoter site in Derbyshire only to be disturbed by boy racers in adjacent car park...do not let the proximity of the roads put you off. Thanks again to the amazing 4 wardens...you know who you are.....see you soon, Helen and Mark x

First visit

We booked this site as we had never visited it before and the reviews were glowing. The A 19 was not far away and there was constant albeit muted, traffic noise in the background. Right outside the caravan site is the premier in and five minutes walking distance is Asda. A short walk or drive away was a large retail park with a variety of shops. We live In an area very similar to this and wanted a nice quiet break somewhere where we have never visited. The park itself was spotless and the pitches were very good. However when I go away I don’t really want to be on top of loads of traffic and lots of shops and because of this we were disappointed. The Tees barrage is impressive and we found a lovely walk along the river Tyne Adjacent to this. There are some lovely places a little further afield Which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is a nature reserve right next door to the site however, it is right next door to an extremely busy A19. The facilities I could not fault and the staff do a fabulous job however we found the location disappointing and because of that we have rated this place 3. When we go on holiday we don’t want to hear constant traffic in the background, Or be right next door to a busy hotel and retail park. I suppose the glowing reviews were appreciative of this busy location and everybody has different tastes but this definitely was not to ours. I felt like we just pitched up in the middle of a busy town/city and that is not something we wish to do when we go on holiday.

A brilliant stay, as always.

We have stayed here a few times and think it is a lovely site, and not too far to travel. We had booked from Monday to Friday but were having such a lovely time, with fantastic weather, we decided to extend our stay. I tried to do it online but couldn't do it. I went to the office to see the warden, who arranged for us to stay over the weekend, until Monday. I was very grateful for her help. All the staff were very friendly, and knowledgeable about the area, things to do, places to go. Showers and toilets were Covid safe, using a band system. We felt very safe on the site.
