Good for families

Far too many dogs.

We stayed in September. The site was a typical club site. 1 of the Male wardens was a little sharply spoken for no reason, ? Tired end of season. We did feel there needs to be more hard standing, and we where shocked just how many dogs where on site, some I most say with bad owners. Most mornings our neighbour would take his 3 large dogs out after they had been moaning to go for a long while. Only for them in desperation to deposit their droppings out side our awning. Yes the owner did pick up. But it wasn’t what we wanted while eating breakfast. If he had taken the poor things earlier as they where requesting he’d of made it to the dog walk. He wasn’t the only bad owner we spotted. Also the smell of dog pee on the waysides and pathways is awful. No we are not anti dog, just anti bad owners. I Truly believe it is time the club charged for dogs and put a limited to numbers per unit. Would you like to be camping on a pitch that had previously had 4-5 dogs on it?

Paulo - this has been the subject  of  long and sometimes heated discussions many times.

As a dog owner myself, I've zero tolerance of lazyour owners who do not exercise their dogs properly. But I'm not sure what putting a limit on numbers per outfit would achieve - in my experience the worst examples  are owners of one, usually small,  spoilt dog. Where I've seen owners of 3 or more they have been outstandingly good in exercising their dogs properly and treating other site users with respect.  smile

Quite easy to work out. You asked if the OP had spoken to warden and I said "little point"

May be true here in the UK but I can name a dog free site where people queue for days at a time waiting for a vacancy and the site we use in Croatia that reserves about 10% of the site for dogs (and charges) has no problem filling the other 90%

Oh, i obviously misread this response for his more frequent "what did the warden say when you spoke to them". My mistake.

Charge £10 a night for them , still cheaper than putting them in kennels surprisedcool

Posted on 17/12/2019 18:41

I think the club should charge moaners an extra £10 a night
