Just returned from Rowntree park a great site been many times and unlike most of the posts re availability we have always managed to get the week we want and never booked more than a couple of weeks in advance, there is though a few issues at the moment. 1. during the flood defence work the Roomzzz hotel guests are given a key to access the site back door this means a prosession of their hotel guests walking through the site some taking photos throughout the day, until the gate is locked to all yes even club members at 10 pm. 2. The Roomzzzz guest in the main are nice people but unfortunately on two of our 6 nights we were awoken at 4am by drunken people shouting, screaming etc on an external balcony which overlooks the site. The warden asked them to keep the noise down but recieved an abusive response. The hotel management were contacted and they removed the said guests and have made changes to try and control theses issues. The blocking off of the approach road to the hotel and site means there is a longer walk to get to the hotel or park this also affects the local youth who were seen hanging about the back gate hoping someone would let them in, again when the warden refused to let them in he was tthreatened. The previous review mentioned the use of cones to reserve pitches for long vehicles, I do have some sympathy but on several occasions the cones were left, pitch was unoccupied and the cone removed the next day. This may have been a no show but surely a arrival time for such arrivals should obtained and if not arrived at or shortly after the time the pitch should revert back to first come first served.
