Nice Surprise

First time at Kiko Park and we really enjoyed it. The facilities whilst dated were very clean (apparently there is a new shower/toilet on site ). If you like cycling there is an old railway track that will take you to Ghana, there is a lovely bar/restaurant on site and one across from the marina which is perfect, if you walk further down the road there are a few restaurants/bars - menu del via at La Roma is very good. Will definitely stay again.

Nice site but nothing to do in the area

This is a well laid out site with new large fully serviced pitches but don't be misled by the "close to the lively town of Oliva" because it is 2 miles away and is certainly not "lively". It is right on the beach which in good weather and the summer would be great, but there is nothing to do in Oliva and when we were there in January there was very little open anywhere. The site facilities are 'ok' and the fully serviced pitches very good but after 10 days we left although we had booked and paid for 21 days as you can only walk or cycle the same routes so many times. In our opinion this site is too far North to be a good location in the winter and there are better sites with more facilities for wintering in Spain.

Excellent October stay

This was our first trip to Spain with our motorhome and trailer/car. The site is very well kept with first class facilities.  Having read some of the previous reviews about the shower block we were a little concerned, however they have recently been refurbished, and they are quite simply the best facilities we have ever used.  Absolutely spotless. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk, and is dog friendly.  Our two dogs loved it.  There is a cafe, excellent laundry and small supermarket on site. Oliva is a lovely town with a market on Tuesdays. We had a generous plot with plenty of room for our 7 metre motorhome with awning, 5 metre trailer and car.  The lanes around the site are tight, but we managed it without any worries. The pitch also had a water tap and mains drainage. Other residents are friendly, and not many children about. The only minor negative were dogs barking early in the morning, they were off the site. Not a major problem, just a niggle!!

Stayed for 4 nights early June 2016 had a brilliant time location super along with a good site pitch was excellent beech literally 2 minutes away food on site very good with ice cold beer walk into town really pleasant, one point i would say to be careful of when you arrive there is not a great deal of room in front of reception dont turn left or right until you know your pitch location as if you need to turn around as i did it is very tight more so with a caravan

An enigma

We stay on this site for 2 days in September 2016 to assess if it was one we would stay at for longer. The reception is very impressive and the facilities on the pitch were good. Although we didn't use it the swimming pool looked excellent and a supurb beach is yust a few yards away.  However, we will not be adding this to our list but may use it for an overnight stop over. Why, well if your going to spend that amount of money on the reception we would have hoped some of it could have been diverted to the toilet and shower blocks that are dated and smell. In addition the dish washing sinks may have been good in their day but are now cracked an frankly make you wonder if you should be using them. Could be an excellent site and will keep our eyes pealed for any review that indicates some money has been spent updating the shower, toilet and dish washing facilities because they've almost got it right.

Fabulous Location but site in need of a little TLC

We spent ten nights on an SP pitch in June 2016. No complaints about the pitch or location - there can't be many sites with direct access to a fabulous and well maintained beach. This site is popular with families with young children. Weekends were extremely busy with Spanish families descending in great numbers. The facilities [such as the pool] were put under some extreme stress at these times. We also noticed during the week that many teenage school children visited the pool on their way home from school. They were quite noisy and were clearly letting off steam. I suspect that they had little to do with the site, but the management seemed not to bother [perhaps they were the children of staff?]. The remaining old toilet/shower block is in urgent need of upgrading. The WiFi is rather expensive and if you have more than one device you need to completely log out of one before connecting to another. This was not always a straightforward and expeditious procedure! Restaurants nearby were excellent and good value. The marina restaurant serves an excellent lunchtime 'daily menu'.

Enjoyable stay

We have just stayed at Kiko park for 2 weeks and had an enjoyable stay. The new shower block is now finished and although very smart it is missing the finer details - hooks, shelf in shower and push button shower which only lasts a very short time. I preferred to use the old block, although was not cleaned regularly I found one which had a very efficient shower and all the above. A good little well stocked shop on site, a good outdoor swimming pool, Wi-Fi intermittent!! 2 restaurants - 1 quite pricey (Kiko Port) but well worth a visit. Cycling good with cycle tracks. Can recommend a lovely cycle through the orange groves to Gandia and on to the nice sea front. While we were there they were pruning the hedges and trees. We were given no notice of this and the workmen arrived very early each morning with chain saws, cranes and trucks!!! The best bit of this site is the location with the beach right on the doorstep, we swam several times.

Dont go to kiko park

I have already made an offical complaint by telephone when at kiko park, the roads were gravel when dry dusty full of pot holes when wet muddy and in my opinon dangerous for people on bikes, scootors and children. when were there rebuilding work was in progress on the toilet block. we were not informed by the caravan club or the owners of the site and were allocated are gold pitch 10 yards from the building work. we asked to move but was told no other gold pitches were available. throughout our 1 months stay were awoken every morning by hammer drills concrete mixers and building plant this went on for 5/6 hours aday at on point they dug trenches across the road and went off for there tes break leaving people stranded in that area. The water and electricity was cut off without informing us and when the water was put back on it was dirty and contaminated. toilet and shower facillities were dirty tiles were cracked and black mould was visible in some of the shower areas, toilet doors had opace plastic panels so you could see people sat on the toilet. We were told it was inspected this year but the inspector must of forgotton to bring is glasses it was certainly not a five star rating only a too I would not recommend this site to the members. we also no that caravan and camping club members complained and were offered alternate sites or refunds. were offered no such option we are disgusted with the caravan club and are now considering changing clubs. The wfii was expensive and impossible to get

Response from the Caravan Club:

Thank you for taking the time to review this site on line.  We are saddened that you experienced problems when you stayed at Kiko Park.  We have contacted the site and they are aware of the issues that you have raised.  We do have all of our overseas sites inspected every year by experienced and unbiased site inspectors and the most recent report did not alert us to any problems.  We really hope that you have not changed clubs and if you do want to book an overseas site in the future with us we would be more than happy to help you with any aspect of your choice of campsite.

Response from Kiko Park:

It is quite normal when it's not raining for the gravel roads to be a little dusty and when it rains the roads are wet but not dangerous. About the building works, like everywhere, they are noisy and we tried to keep the work as quiet and efficient as possible.

We were fully booked during the whole building process nearly without any complains. When the electricity or water was cut off without warning, it was because of unforeseen problems. Only once the water was dirty when we put it back on and we were forced to fill up the swimming pool to clean this pipe as soon as possible.

Your inspectors have seen the old toilet and shower facilities and I think they can support when I say that the toilets are just old, but clean and it’s impossible to see through the plastic panels.

We offer two different possibilities for the wi-fi access, a free one at the restaurant and pizzeria and the payable one on the rest of site, this one works well and it is used daily by many costumers, and we think that the price 29.90 € for 1 month is fair.

Best regards

Emilio
