First time away in motorhome in France

We arrived after quite a long drive from a site near Calais. Friendly greeting and site explained, requested a sea view pitch but none available but when we were given our pitch we could actually see the sea. Site set on several levels, the higher up you are the better the view. Good sized pitch. Fully serviced Site set very close to the beach and good dog walks through the neighbouring forest. Facilities spotless!! Mixed toilets and showers but it didn’t seem to matter. Shop open daily serving fresh bread and croissants and good range of fresh and dry foods. Two restaurants on site and a bar.. This is our first time abroad in our motorhome and so far I’m very impressed with the sites and the French greeting… I would highly recommend this site… we were two adults and one dog but it’s good for families too.

Wonderful

We stayed here for 9 nights and had a fantastic time. The pitches vary but all seemed to be fairly level and easy to access. They are separated mostly with small trees and shrubs which is lovely. We had a serviced pitch on the top terrace which was a great size. No seaview, but we didn’t worry about it, we had lots of space for the awning, tables, chairs and the car. The facilities are really good, very clean showers and loos with loo paper!!!), and a wonderful washing up area with a seaview. There’s an excellent laundry room (tokens from the shop) We made the most of everything on offer. You can borrow tennis rackets and play on the AstroTurf court. The same with table tennis, just borrow the bats and balls. It’s all free. The two pools were great. We only used the indoor one which was warm. The outdoor pool looked nice but was very cold (May) A lovely sandy beach is a 5 minute walk away and you can take dogs. They should stay on the lead and there is a doggy bin which also dispenses free poo bags. We ate in the bar/restaurant one evening. The service was a bit slow but the burgers were absolutely delicious. Staff around the site are so very friendly and polite. We tried to speak French but they spoke English if our French conversation fizzled out. You can order bread and croissants for collection in the little shop each day and the shop stocks a pretty good range of basics. The almond croissants were amazing. We visited St Vaast du Hogue and Barfleur which are both very pretty and walked to a nearby lighthouse one evening to watch a spectacular sunset. This was our first trip to France with the caravan and it honestly could not have been better. The site is only 20 minutes from Cherbourg and we loved absolutely everything about it. Can’t wait to go back.

L'Anse du Brick

Brilliant terraced site 15 minutes outside Cherbourg and with sea views. When we were there the site was being prepared for its winter closure not that effected us. The facilities are spotless and modern, just be aware they are mixed sex in typical French fashion. The only other slight downside of the site there was no telephone signal. The site does however good WiFi coverage and if you go for the basic , checking emails and a little surfing then it’s free. Plenty of shops and fuel stations around. We had some wonderful walks direct from site including the fort and lighthouse at Cap Levi. We would return in low season again

My Second Visit

My second visit at this spectacular site. The views are lovely of the coast. The site is kept very clean, the staff are hard working and friendly. The snack bar/ Bar was new to me on my second visit, but is an excellent addition. I cannot find any fault

Excellent site

We stayed here for just one night but would happily return for longer. The site is well organised and in a lovely position overlooking the coast. The staff are friendly and very professional. The facilities are excellent and include a bar/snack bar as well as a more traditional French restaurant. Highly recommended.

Excellent site

We stayed for four nights in June 2017. One of the best sites we have stayed on in France. Easy to reach off the Cherbourg ferry. The site is in tiered rows rising from sea level and appears to have been once a quarry. However, it is green and verdant now. Sun most of the day. Nicely laid out, hedge-bound grassy pitches. Facilities very clean and well-maintained. Shop - with fresh bread every morning - excellent. Big pool. Pleasant walking around, and cycling towards Cherbourg. Nice visits to local ports and villages. Leclerc etc in Cherbourg. It's a bit of a drive to the battlefields etc, but you are rewarded with the quiet of the location. The small beach had an inundation of smelly, rotting seaweed at the time we were there which made access difficult but worth it when on the sand. Recommended. We will go back.

Don't tell everyone

We stayed here in the second week of September so we can't comment on what it would be like mid-season as I imagine it would be a very popular campsite, and I can see why. Pitches are fantastic, staff are very helpful, beautiful views and great facilities. Enjoyed the peace and quiet as it was out of season. It's worth venturing out on some of the walks, maps available at reception.

Great site

We have just returned from a two week stay at this site and cannot praise the experience enough!  Great, immaculate facilities and an extremely large flat pitch with allowed our two girls to play freely.  They also really enjoyed the activities put on by the kids club which is very well run and added to the girls holiday experience.  Would definitely visit again.

Excellent site

Stayed there June/July 2016. Wonderful site, very clean and quite. Showers immaculate, unisex with piped music. The premium pitch we booked was enormous with excellent views, the only disappointment was 5 days of rain. An easy 20 minute drive from Cherbourg. There is a fantastic submarine/aquarium facing the ferry dock in Cherbourg, admission also includes a Titanic experience. Normandy beaches within an hours drive. The motorways during our stay were very quite and extremely well maintained with clear directions for the slip roads. This was our firm trip abroad with the caravan, enjoyed it so much we are planning to re-visit in 2017.
