handy stopover
A convenient site for a three day stopover in a good location to get a taste of the area. Pitches are level but sandy and little grass cover although we were there at the end of the season. Our allocated pitch was unavailable on arrival (previous occupants still there) which was disappointing as we could not be next to our friends who had paid a supplement for a pitch adjoining ours (they had booked independently). We were offered a choice of two pitches neither of which were easy to access with our motor home and was really dark under trees as well as being a distance from where we should have been. Eventually, after another trip to reception and having expressed our disappointment and frustration (there was no understanding that the people were still on our allocated pitch and there was no interest in pursuing that) we moved to another pitch nearer to where we should have been. The shop was good and well stocked, take away was adequate, pool area enjoyed by all. However, we wouldn't go back.

A Great Site
This was our third stay at this site, but the first time in our own caravan and we think its a great site! Ideally located for exploring the Chateau's of the Loire valley, with a great pool complex and a really nice relaxed feel to it. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful and whenever we needed it, they pointed us in the right direction, so all in all, we had a great stay at the Chateau des Marais and we'll definitely be back again!
Great campsite and holiday park
lovely family site
We stayed for 12 nights in early August and enjoyed big shady pitches with easy access to the pool area for the children. We found the staff pleasant and helpful, the shop well filled with French goodies and the information kiosk well furnished with local leaflets. The surrounding area is outstanding, Blois is gorgeous and excellent for eating out at night, the chateaux are magnificent. The only negative is the poolside where we saw several slips and one that required hospitalisation.
