Good for families

IDEAL FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNGER CHILDREN

We visited this site for 4 nights in August and, on arrival, had the slowest check in ever due to staff continually answering the phone so it was 30 minutes before we were shown to our pitch. The site is huge though very well laid out so you don't feel crammed in. There's numerous play areas around the site so the children don't congregate in one place The reception is modern, shop well stocked and there is a bar which we didn't visit as the outside tables were very dirty The swimming pool complex is disappointing - the lining of the pool is loose and there is uneven terracing. There are not enough sunbeds for the size of the site and, when it opens at 1000am, people are queued to put towels on beds and then leave!! When I spoke to reception, they said there was little they could do to stop it though staff around the pool should address it - what staff?? We didn't see any We visited Saumur which you can cycle to from site (around 40 minutes and flat) though if you choose to drive, its free parking. If you like steak, highly recommend Keatings steak house in the main square, delicious. Also the food in the site restaurant is excellent Just another point - the club description says on the banks of the River Loire - the site is not. The river flows the other side of a very busy road and does not have beaches and therefore unaccessible Would recommend this site for families with younger children
