Great location.

Spent 10 days here. Facilities a little bit dated but perfectly acceptable. Location is great on a hill overlooking the lake. Good centre for exploring the locality although roads around the lake can be busy especially with cyclists. Small supermarkets nearby for provisions but bread can be ordered daily from reception. Chemical toilet and grey waste facilities were excellent.

Very clean site, but very dated

The site is kept very clean and the owners very helpful. Unfortunately this site was not for us, very quiet and not as close to the lake as we thought.

Gorgeous!

This site was all the reviews suggested it would be, and we had a great 13 nights here. Close to so much: French Alps, loads of other gently demanding walking terrain, Annecy and other shopping etc, lakes (with access), cycling (bikes for hire, if wanted) ... and lots of peace and quiet. Beautifully run and, for our tastes, quite up-to-date enough. Great!

A little gem....

This is a fantastic little site. The description 'rustic' is accurate but dont let that put you off. We had a great pitch which had both sun and shade which suited us perfectly particularly as our dog travels with us. We did get some noise from the adjacent much larger site but nothing too bad at all and nothing too late into the night. My lead wouldn't reach the electric point but a long extension lead was readily loaned by the owners and for this they did not charge. The facilities are perhaps in need of updating, in particular the mens showers which are very small and cramped but they are kept spotlessly clean as are the toilets and dish washing areas The site is family owned and run and the owners speak excellent English. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The area around the site is just stunning and there are various places to visit in the locality. Particularly Annecy, Thones and Sevrier. Doussard nearby has a handy small supermarket (Carrefour Contact from memory), if you need a vet there is one close by in Doussard, the site owner will arrange an appointment for the tapeworm treatment if you wish though we did this ourselves. We didn't try the bar or any meals on site so cannot comment on them. We will definitely be returning to this area and this site.

Don't hesitate to book this peaceful site!

The site is accurately described, and we also found the owners to be very helpful. Lovely location with either lake or mountain views, both if you're lucky. Access is a little tricky for larger outfits, easier from Doussard direction, but if you follow the CC directions, don't be put off - just hope you don't meet someone leaving the site on the narrow bit!

Peace of heaven

Really enjoyed our stay at the site, the owner Bridgette was very helpful and went the full mile to ensure our stay was first class. Wifi was limited to the entrance area but this didn't affect our stay. The views are exceptional coupled with this was the peace and quietness of the site. The site is located at the other end of lake from Annecy, not a problem as a short drive or a slightly longer cycle via a designated cycle path brings you to the heart of the town. however the site location ensures peace and tranquillity from the hustle and bustle. Would certainly recommend site to people wanting a peaceful holiday yet able to indulge in atmosphere and dining of Annecy

Annecy Le Taillefer

Le Taillefer is a delightful small site in Lathuile a small village just outside Dousard. Some pitches are beneath trees while others benefit from a view of the mountains on the other side of Lake Annecy from which you can watch the many paragliders. The site is exceptionally clean with all of the usual facilities including male/female showers, a disabled shower/toilet, chemical and grey water waste disposal. There is a small shop on site that offers essentials, cold drinks and ice creams and bread is delivered daily. It is also possible to walk to two nearby restaurants and to the landing stage for the boat that travels around Lake Annecy. The owners speak excellent english and are VERY welcoming helpful hosts and of course the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our stay at Le Taillefer very much.

LOVELY DESPITE THE RAIN!

This is a delightful little site, close to two other larger ones, but despite a lack of some facilities and features for families, as a couple of certain years we found it very pleasant. The hosts are helpful, friendly and speak good English (as I discovered after trying out my basic French!). We had a large grass pitch on a slight slope with views of the lake to the mountains. Despite deluging rain on two out of our three days, we had no problem in moving our fairly large motorhome from the pitch. We tow a small car, so were able to get out and about up into the mountains, with much help from Madame as to where to go. Annecy itself is lovely to visit with its interesting Old Town, but not the easiest place to negotiate when arriving in the area. A satnav is perhaps a necessity.

Stunning scenery, friendly hosts.

This is a beautiful site, facing the right way for sun. Every day watch the paragliders, hang gliders and balloonists jump and drift. Surrounded by mountains and looking down on the lake, the only disturbance is the proximity to a reasonably busy country road. Very friendly hosts who speak excellent English and only too happy to help and advise. Not terribly handy to restaurants or shops. Need bikes or car. Ferry to Annecy was terrific but best of all is the bike path, free of cars that is raised so you have great views and goes all the way to Annecy. So many things to do in this beautiful area. Facilities a bit rustic but clean. No greywater disposal on site. WiFi unreliable.
