LOVELY DESPITE THE RAIN!

This is a delightful little site, close to two other larger ones, but despite a lack of some facilities and features for families, as a couple of certain years we found it very pleasant. The hosts are helpful, friendly and speak good English (as I discovered after trying out my basic French!). We had a large grass pitch on a slight slope with views of the lake to the mountains. Despite deluging rain on two out of our three days, we had no problem in moving our fairly large motorhome from the pitch. We tow a small car, so were able to get out and about up into the mountains, with much help from Madame as to where to go. Annecy itself is lovely to visit with its interesting Old Town, but not the easiest place to negotiate when arriving in the area. A satnav is perhaps a necessity.

Stunning scenery, friendly hosts.

This is a beautiful site, facing the right way for sun. Every day watch the paragliders, hang gliders and balloonists jump and drift. Surrounded by mountains and looking down on the lake, the only disturbance is the proximity to a reasonably busy country road. Very friendly hosts who speak excellent English and only too happy to help and advise. Not terribly handy to restaurants or shops. Need bikes or car. Ferry to Annecy was terrific but best of all is the bike path, free of cars that is raised so you have great views and goes all the way to Annecy. So many things to do in this beautiful area. Facilities a bit rustic but clean. No greywater disposal on site. WiFi unreliable.

Wonderful site

We stayed here for 3 weeks in May. We had the site almost to ourselves. We were allocated a fantastic pitch with so much space and wonderful views. The owners Bridget and Michel were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We used our own facilities, but upon inspection the showers and toilets were spotless. Bread and pastries can be ordered the day before and are delivered by 8.00am next morning. There are many scenic drives in and around Lac Annecy and Annecy town is very interesting too. We recommend Semnoz at 5,000ft with glorious views of the Mont Blanc range and to have ice cream and coffee at the summit cafe. We also drove to Chamonix and took the cable car to the top of Aguille du Midi. The cable car travels almost vertical from the mid station to the summit. and at 15,000ft lightheadedness and dizziness was experienced by most visitors. You walk through the ice caves to magnificent views of Mont Blanc. At 53 euros each it was worth, the once in a lifetime visit. Wifi on site is charged at 1e per day and is only available near reception, but there is a 3g phone signal to make phone calls and send texts. For those wanting peace and tranquility we can recommend this site to all.

Fantistique!

We have just spent 14 nights at Camping le Taillefer. It's a lovely, simple and peaceful site with stunning 360 degree views of the mountains. The owner is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Can't think of a better place to relax and recharge!

Amazing

We have just returned from a 10 day holiday on this site and it was truly amazing. Fabulous views, small, friendly and exceptionally clean. No noise at all so lovely peaceful holiday with delightful neighbours on all sides. Fantastic owners, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.

delightful site

Such a friendly and helpful warden. The site was well run and clean. We're surprised to read about 'wonderful views' as almost all we could see were the chalet roofs below us. Perhaps you should specify 'site with views'! But we did have shade - much needed. We turned in to 'Reception' only to discover it wasn't the route to the pitches.Better signing needed?

Lovely site

A lovely situated site, peaceful and quite, beautiful views. Not right on the lake but very close and can walk and get to a boat jetty for the trip into Annecy. The only complaint is I feel the washing up water needs to be a little hotter. Also perhaps a few branches on the trees over some pitches could be trimmed a little, although nice to have shade a little difficult for a larger camper. Would recommend.
