Noisy

We had a one-night stop here while travelling around France. Organization was amateurish. Poor signage of washing / toilet facilities. The guide got lost taking us to a pitch, and asked me to turn the outfit round - in a narrow track! The worst problem was a party who chatted and shouted till after 4am. Then went to the bottle bank. Site rules say no noise after 11 pm, with a night watchman to enforce the rule. When we complained the next morning we were told, "Oh sorry, we know who that was, they were attending a seminar here, drank in the restaurant till midnight, and we thought they had gone to bed." If I had paid directly I would have demanded refund. The on-site shop was closed. The lake is a green weedy mess.

Response from the Caravan Club:

Thank you for leaving this review on the Caravan Club website.  Our overseas sites do try to enforce the rules regarding noise after certain hours, however sadly there will occasionally be people who break these regulations.  We have passed on your comments to Le Bois du Bardelet and they have provided the following clarification.

Response from Le Bois du Bardelet :

We are sorry to hear that your stay on our Domaine was not as enjoyable as you wished. Indeed, we hosted a professional seminar and didn't think they would be so noisy. We can confirm that after this seminar a watchman was (and will be) on site every weekend and during every special event that we host (and will host) in the future.

In low-season last year the shop was open from7.30am to midday every day, so it was definitely not closed during your stay, unless you came to the shop during the afternoon/evening.

There are 2 lakes on our campsite, we are very careful to keep the fishing lake's water very clear but the leisure lake's water is usually darker because we want to leave it 'wild' as it is used only for canoeing.  During the winter, we put more carps in the leisure lake so that they would eat the weeds, therefore the water should be much clearer this year.

Please, be sure that we are very sorry for this bad experience. We will be more than happy to welcome you again on our Domaine to show you how lovely our campsite is!
