Good for families

Peaceful and quiet, with friendly owners.

Les Pres Verts is a family business and the site owner's mother welcomed us and was very amicable. The family all speak good English too.I did try my best to speak in French though. We had a wonderful conversation in a mixture of French and English, which was interesting! We booked 2 weeks at this site and enjoyed our stay there. When we arrived the heavens opened and it chucked it down, so setting up resulted in us getting pretty soggy. Thankfully the weather improved the next day. We were able to choose from a couple of large pitches, as we have a 26ft caravan. The Monsieur drove me down to the pitch in the downpour from reception in what he called 'my Porsche' golf cart, which was very kind of him. We took plenty of power leads and a French adapter for the hook up, as we have found from travelling around France in the past, that you need to be prepared for a long stretch to some EHU's! In this case only shorter lead was required. Some of the pitches are on a gentle slopes and upon a 'reckie' around the site, all the campers and caravans that I saw appeared to be levelled up with standard ramps etc. There are no adapters to fix a hose on the water taps, but we managed to fill up our Aqua Rolls without much trouble. The site's shower block is very clean and tidy and is cleaned daily. The showers had plenty of hot water too. Some of the site is a little overgrown, but the pitches are mowed regularly and it didn't really matter to us. The swimming pool is lovely and warm and not that busy. The pool area is neat and tidy too. There is a little pool for smaller children, which is super warm and the main pool is no deeper than 1.70m. It is a short walk down to a little beach, which is sandy and clean. It was a bit sea weedy at the time, but there had been some rough weather a day or so before we arrived and a lot of weed had been washed up on the shore. My husband went for a swim to test it out though. From the beach there is a very pleasant coastal walk down to Concarneau. It takes about 40 - 50 mins stroll to get there and there are some lovely views to be seen along the way. There is no bread service on the site, but there is a very good Boulangerie about 1km away. They were selling 4 for the price of 3 baguettes at the time we were there. (we were a party of 5 and the delicious bread didn't last long!) There is a notice board at the exit of the site that gives daily information on what's going on, such as local markets and when the crepe ladies arrive on site to cook sweet and savoury crepes once a week. All in all we had a lovely stay at Les Pres Verts. The owners are friendly and very welcoming. If you want peace and quiet this is a perfect place to pitch up. We would stay there again.
