2 sites in1

well we arrived to a warm welcome in reception then were left to find our own pitch not difficult but large site. We settled in on our street but found our pitch next to the footpath that runs between 2 toilet blocks consequently foot passage was heavy along with dogs.the facilities on site were excellent however Monday /Thursday have happy hour at the bar but no one informed us and the staff in the Bar told us that to be served by them is NOT happy hour you must get your own they were not the best as either did not speak ANY english or did not want to. Now the Weekend the site becomes a shanty town hundreds of children with no road sense locals using pitches on which they use every conceivable inch then link to friends on the next pitch or even the next two. 2pm is Siesta time so the crush at the Pool subsides as they return to pitch but then return to the Pool approx 5pm evening entertainment starts at 10pm and runs till gone midnight a little different from Caravan Club Sites and English need to be aware of this different Lifestyle . The shop was being restocked whilst we were there and the staff were excellent and you could buy virtually anything at the same price as local shops I tried to find the Eco Trail in order to ride to the Coast to be given a copy of Google Maps and after 3 weeks I had not even found the start, but I did find lots of good cycling around El Hondo nature reserve .in conclusion this site was sold to us whilst at the NEC although very nice far from the magic Holiday projected.

Not to Everyone's Taste, but an Excellent Site

This is the second time we have stayed here travelling south. Pitches are laid out in streets. Trees and hedges still have a lot of growing to do. Pitches are level and well serviced. Sanitary facilities are plentiful and first class. Restaurant and shop are OK. The outdoor pool is excellent. Take a bus (stops outside reception if you ask reception to book it for you) and go to Elche and visit the Palm Forest. It is mind blowing. If you ask the bus driver he will detour back past reception to drop you off. (It is a service bus not private)

Massive...

This must be the largest site we will ever use, booked by necessity as a two day stopover to Spain. All that others have said about the site is true. The pitches are all of a uniform size but ver flat and good water and electric hopkups. Facilities all excellent but would not stay again due to size and the site lacks personality.

Good site and facilities

The best toilet block and facilities we found between England and Spain. Good size pitches, but not a lot of privacy, and an excellent cappuccino in the bar with the free wifi.

Massive site with great facilities

The first thing that hits you is the size of this site, it's massive and can be very busy. Not cheap but you have all the facilities you want away from the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the facilities were first class, brilliant outdoor pool and entertainment. Would certainly recommend and return again but stay a bit longer next time. All staff very helpful. Site secure with check-points guards after hours.

Excellent site for winter sun

This is a very large site but is beautifully kept and has fantastic facilities.  We stayed here in January; it's the second time we've spent some time here. The site is well signposted from J730 of the AP7 motorway.  The reception staff are very helpful and friendly.  You have to pay a refundable deposit of €10 each for a wristband which you are supposed to wear at all times - but during our stay I didn't see a single person wearing one! The pitches are set in blocks either side of an attractive tree lined boulevard. They are easily accessible and are very large - there was plenty room for our caravan to be sideways on (to face the sun) with our awning and car, and still room to sit out.  The pitches are well marked out but as yet - it being a fairly new site - the hedges around each pitch are very small and there isn't much privacy. There are several large toilet blocks, all heated and very clean, with large showers and ample hot water.  Each block has loads of washing up sinks and a laundry (€4 each for the washer and dryer).  They all have a pétanque pitch and garden/seating area at one end. The entertainment complex is mega, and is set around a large central plaza with fountains etc.  The beautiful outside pool is unfortunately only open for sunbathing during the winter, but there is an indoor pool and lovely spa, a gym, a supermarket, a pharmacy, a hairdresser, a restaurant and the Marjal pub.  There's also an outdoor gym, tennis courts, mini golf, and bike hire. There are many different nationalities on site, and activities and restaurant special meals etc are arranged so that there is something for everyone. For dog lovers there is a large exercise area and a dog washing room in the toilet blocks, and even a dog obstacle training area. A mobile vet visits every week. There is a bit of road noise from the motorway, but in spite of it's size it's quite quiet although it does liven up a bit at weekend when the Spanish arrive as there are many seasonal pitches on site. The only downside of this site is that it's not near anywhere - the nearby town of Catral is a bike ride away (it's not a particularly nice walk) and El Fondo nature reserve is also nice, but apart from that you have to get the car out to go anywhere - although the site itself is so lovely many people just seem to stay on site.  Electricity is not included; we used gas for heating and hot water and used approximately 5kw a day - €1.75 per day - which soon adds up!
